四、教学过程
Step I Warming-up
Look, ask and answer.
T asks Ss to look at the pictures and then make conversations in pairs like this:
A: What can you do?
B: I can…
A: What can’t you do?
B: I can’t…
Have a talk.
1. T shows “class monitor, PE monitor and cleaning monitor” and makes sure Ss know their meanings.
2. T asks Ss to talk about the following questions.
(1) Which monitor would you like to be for your class?
(2) What do these monitors do?
设计意图：通过谈论自己的才能，复习上一节课内容。通过师生问答复习上课时的句型，同 时引入本单元话题。
Step II Pre-reading
1. T teaches the new words and expressions. Then ask some Ss to read them, and check their pronunciations.
2. T asks Ss to look at some pictures and think about what they show.
设计意图：学习新单词，注意读音及其中文意思。
Step III While-reading
Activity 2
1. Ss skim the passage and match what Daming, Tony and Ling would like to be.
2. Ss read the sentences and talk about them in pairs and check the true sentences.
3. Ss read the passage again and check the answers in pairs.
4. T asks a S to be “a little teacher” to check the answers.
5. T shows the structure of the passage and ask Ss to fill in the blanks.
设计意图：让学生扮演“小老师”提高学生参与度。通过对文章框架的梳理，以细节填空的方式，帮助学生整体把握文章结构，检测学生理解文章细节内容和概况大意的能力。
Step IV Post-reading
1. T lets Ss read the passage in groups of four and then find out the difficulties.
2. T explains the key points and difficulties to the class.
(1) I get on well with everyone… 我和每个人都相处得很好……
get on well with... 与……相处融洽；进展顺利
如果要表达“与某人相处得不好”，可以用get on badly with sb.
如果想询问“与某人相处得怎样”，要用how来提问。
(2) Choose me as your class monitor and I promise to help YOU! 选我当你们的班长，我保证会帮助你们！

make a promise 许下诺言

3. T asks the whole class to read out the whole passage, make sure that they understand it better.
Activity 3
1. Ss read carefully and underline the correct words in Activity 3.
2. Ss check the answers in groups and discuss.
Activity 4
1. T asks a S to read the expressions in Activity 4 and tell what they mean.
2. Ss complete the sentences with the correct form of the expressions from the box.
设计意图：在学生完成阅读任务后讲解语法点，巩固课文内容，检查学生对课文的准确理解程度，并巩固和运用所学重点短语。
Activity 5
1. T makes a list:
Monitors

what job they can do

2. Ss say their own opinions and T writes them in the list.
3. Ss work in groups to choose the best people in their class to be the monitors.( Ss can also choose themselves to be the monitors.)
4. Ss talk about their opinions in their groups. They can say what the best people is good at, can do well and how they can help. (When saying, Ss can refer to the list above.)
Activity 6
1. T asks Ss to write a passage according to their choices. They can use the words and structures learnt in Activity 2.
2. T analyses the writing ideas before writing.
3. After writing, Ss exchange their passages in pairs and help correct mistakes.
4. T asks some Ss to read out their passages.
设计意图：先列表再讨论，降低运用新的目标语言进行讨论的难度。通过“描述某个班委”写作思路的讲解，帮助学生掌握相关话题的写作技巧，为接下来的写作打好基础。写完后通过同伴互判，使学生学会欣赏别人的作品，从中发现自己的不足。
