Do you often drink bottled drinks? Of course 1 is so cool to get a cold one right out of the fridge, right?
But all those plastic bottles use a lot of oil and 2 the environment. Americans buy 3 bottled water than any other nation in the world. In order to make all these bottles, 17 million barrels(桶) of oil 4 up. That’s enough oil to keep a million cars going for twelve months.
Most people choose__5__ the bottles away after having the bottled drinks. In fact, instead of going out with the trash, plastic bottles can be turned into carpeting or clothing. Remember this: Recycling one plastic bottle

__7__, for every six water bottles we use, only one is recycled. The rest are sent as garbage (垃圾). Or, even worse, they end up __8__ trash on the land or in rivers and oceans.
So why don’t more people drink water from the kitchen? Some people drink bottled water 9 they think it is better for them, but that’s not true. The chemicals in the bottles themselves may get into the water which can do harm to people.
So next time when you have drinks or water, please try to use__10__ glass at home or carry water in a steel bottle. And if you want to do something more, try to collect plastic bottles and send them for recycling.

热点——垃圾分类
When throwing away trash, do you know which bin it should go in? Some of you might not be able to answer this question. But it’s very important to know how to deal with your waste. Not knowing how to deal with waste will make it harder to save energy and protect the environment.
If you don’t deal with your rubbish, all of it will go to a landfill(垃圾场) and be buried (埋) together. These landfills can take up large areas of the ground. The electronic waste you throw away can pollute the soil and groundwater. Other pieces of garbage can be used to make other things if they are properly recycled.
Now, many cities in China have taken actions in recent years. For example, Shanghai announced in July that people must divide the garbage into four groups: recyclable, harmful, wet and dry.
Paper, metal, glass and other things that can be reused are recyclable waste.
Harmful waste includes things like medicine, batteries and fluorescent(荧光的) bulbs. These things are not recyclable.
Wet waste is also known as household waste. “They are things you don’t want but that pigs can eat,” Guangzhou Daily explained.
Some waste such as plastic bags, beer bottles and other man?made things will go into the “dry waste” bin.
Many other Chinese cities, including Shenzhen, Guangdong plan to use this way to deal with their garbage. Let’s encourage each other to deal with our waste well by sorting it to protect the environment.
