Unit1 Integrated skill and Study skills
一、教学目标
1. 从旅行日程表中提取信息,完成有关日本之行的笔记。
2. 从录音材料中提取和加工信息,补全一篇有关在日本旅行的文章。
3. 谈论亚洲的不同国家,说说自己最想去哪个国家旅游。
4. 学习上下文之间转换、连接等技巧。
二、教学内容
1. 掌握词汇:Japanese, state。
词组:Mount Fuji, visit the ancient city, leave for. body language, a form of, be different from, for example, nod one’s head, shake one’s head, look away. look in the eyes. look down, cross arms。
句型:
On the second day, we are going to take a... to...
On the third day, we are going to visit an ancient city called... and learn about Japanese...
During our stay in Japan, we can also try kinds of Japanese...

四、教学过程
Step 1 Leading in
1. Use pictures to present the new words.
Tokyo the capital of Japan
Kyoto an ancient city of culture
Mount Fuji Japan’s highest mountain
2. Explain the context of Part Al. Ask students to fill in as many blanks in Millie’s notes as they could using information from the schedule.
Step 2 Practice
1. Play the recording through once without stopping. Ask students to listen the first time without writing anything.
2. Play the recording again. Stop every now and then to give students time to write if necessary.
3. Play the recording again all the way through without stopping for students to check their answers.
4. Ask students to volunteer their answers. Listen for mistakes and mispronunciations.
5. Explain to students that they can use notes from page 15 to help them complete Part A3. All the information they need to complete Millie’s article can be found in Part A1.
6. Divide the class into pairs. Each pair must work together to come up with the correct answers for Part A3. And they can swap their answer once they have finished.
7. Ask volunteers to read out their answers. The whole class listen for mistakes, and raise their hands when they have questions.
Step 3 Learn the Part B
1. Present the following questions for the students to scan the conversation in Part B.
(1)Which city will Annie also visit?
(Singapore.)
(2)Is Singapore big or small?
(Small.)
(3)What language do people speak there?
(English and Chinese.)
2. Practise reading the conversation and act it out in pairs.
3. Make up new conversations about where to visit. Then ask some pairs to act out their conversations.
Step 4 Learn “Study skills”
教师利用手势让学生了解肢体语言在不同的国家的意义也不同。
教师举例子说明:
1. (做“OK”的手势)在美国,人们用这个手势表示“OK”,是“赞扬”的意思;在印度,表示“正确”;在泰国,表示“没问题”;在日本、緬甸、韩国,表示“金钱”;在法国,表示“微不足道”或“一文不值”;在巴西、希腊和意大利的撒丁岛,这是一种令人厌恶的污秽手势;在马耳他,却是一句恶毒的骂人话。
2. (竖起大拇指)在中国,竖起大拇指表示称赞、夸奖;在英国、澳大利亚和新西兰,旅游者常用它作搭车的手势;如果将大拇指向下,就成为侮辱人的信号;在日本,大拇指表示“老爷子”。
Step 5 Homework
