Unit 2 Are they yours? Period Two
一、Teaching objectives:
Knowledge objectives:
1. At the end of the class, the students are expected to listen, read、speak and write the key words ,phrases and expressions correctly: camera, mobile phone, lost and found office, in a hurry, leave-left, airport, hundred, hundred of, thousand, thousand of, look for, strange, sausage
2. They are able to know about the meaning of the expressions and structures:People often lose things when ---. They leave things on/in---. That’s why---.

Skill objectives:
1. At the end of the class, the students can sum up the phrases and useful expressions by themselves.
2. At the end of the class, the students can retell the passage according to the mind map or the key words.

Step one: Warm-up and lead-in
1. Ask questions and have a free talk with the students:
Did you ever lose things?
What did you lose?
Where did you lose it/them?
when did you lose it/them?
Did you find it/them?
Where and how did you find it/them?
2. Review the reading passage by asking some questions:
When do people often lose things according to the passage?
Where do people usually lose things?
What can you find in the New York Lost and Found Office?
Step two: Careful reading (the second R”)
1. Let the students read the reading passage again and find out the difficulties, then discuss in groups.
2. Focus on their difficulties, write the difficult phrases and sentences on the blackboard.
