Step 1 Warming up
1. Show the picture of a classroom. Ask the students: What can you see in the classroom?
2. Help the students answer the question using the following words to describe the classroom.
blackboard, chalk, computer, email, Internet, chair, desk, eraser, paper, pen, pencil, ruler, bag, picture, clock, window, plant
3. Ask and answer.
T: How do you like your school?
S1: I think it’s interesting.
S2: I think it’s a little boring. But it will be different in the future.

4. Ask the students to discuss what the school will be like in the future.

Step 2 Presentation
Ask the students to look at the picture in Activity 1. Describe the classroom using the words in the box.

1. Play the recording, and ask the students to listen and choose Lingling’s answers to the questions in Activity 2.

Step 5 Language points
1. Will students need computers at school? 在学校学生将需要电脑吗?
need此处作实义动词,意为“需要”,有人称和数的变化。常见用法有:
(1)need +名词/代词 需要……
We need some fruit and vegetables. 我们需要一些水果和蔬菜。
(2) need to do sth. 需要做某事
She needs to wait for an hour. 她需要等待一个小时。
Do I need to say my phone number again?
我需要再说一遍我的电话号码吗?
[拓展]need也可以作情态动词,意为“需要”,像can一样,它的后面跟动词原形。此时,need没有人称和数的变化,通常用于疑问句或否定句。
You needn’t go to school so early. 你不需要这么早去上学。
Need I come earlier? 我需要早点儿来吗?
2. In twenty years’ time, maybe there won’t be any schools!
二十年以后,或许一所学校都没有了!
(1) in twenty years’ time相当于in twenty years,意为“二十年以后”。在英语中,“in+一段时间”表示“一段时间之后”,常用于一般将来时。提问“in+一段时间”用how soon。
My father will go to Beijing in two weeks.
我父亲将在两周之后去北京。
—How soon will they come back?
他们多久就会回来?
—In three days.
三天以后。
(2) 辨析:maybe与may be
maybe
也许;大概
副词,通常位于句子开头作状语
may be
可能是
may是情态动词,表示推测;be是动词原形,两者构成谓语,位于句中
Maybe Miss Li is angry with us.
Miss Li may be angry with us.
或许李老师生我们的气。
(3) there be句型的一般将来时的结构为:There will be+主语+其他. 在变为否定句时,直接在 will后加not,will not可缩写为won’t;变一般疑问句时,将will提到句子开头。
There will be many computers in the classroom.
教室里将会有许多电脑。
There won’t be clean water in 100 years’ time.
一百年之后将没有干净的水。
—Will there be a basketball match next Friday afternoon?
下星期五下午将有一场篮球比赛吗?
—Yes, there will. / No, there won’t.
是的,有。/不,没有。
3. Computers won’t be able to do that. 计算机将无法胜任这一点。
be able to 意为“能,会”,后面跟动词原形,可用于多种时态,而can只用于一般现在时或一般过去时中。
Are you able to swim? = Can you swim?
你会游泳吗?
Will robots be able to do everything?
机器人将能做所有的事情吗?
4. Teachers won’t use chalk on a blackboard and students won’t use pens and paper, or erasers any more! 老师们将不再用粉笔在黑板上写字,学生们也将不再使用钢笔、纸和橡皮!
not…any more意为“不再”,强调数量上不再增加或动作上不再重复,not要与助动词或情态动词连用。
The children don’t talk any more. 孩子们不再说话了。
I won’t do that any more. 我不再那样做了。
[拓展] no more相当于not…any more,通常位于助动词、情态动词之后,实义动词之前。
They will no more use computers. = They won’t use computers any more.
他们将不再使用电脑。
Step 6 Practice

2. Complete the passage with the correct form of the words and expression from the box.

设置话题“理想的学校”和“未来的生活”让学生讨论,既衔接了上一单元的内容,又引出本单元的阅读话题;课文按照“速读—细读—读后运用”的基本步骤进行教学,培养学生的阅读技巧。其中,“读后运用”按照“先说后写,先易后难”的原则推进,使训练层层深入,步步为营,稳打稳扎。

通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

1. Make the students talk about their dream school in groups. And then ask some of them to give a report.

1. What will life be like in the future? 未来的生活将会怎样?
“What be +主语 + like?”是一个常用句型,用来询问某人的性格、品质或某物的特点等。
—What is Wang Lingling like? 王玲玲是一个怎样的人?
— She is very kind. 她非常友好。
— What is your school like? 你们的学校什么样子?
— It is beautiful and clean.它美丽又干净。
— What will the weather be like tomorrow? 明天天气怎样?
— It will be cool. 将很凉爽。
2. Which ones will come true? 哪些将成为现实?
(1) 辨析:one与it
one
代替上文中提到的名词以避免重复,表示同类人或事物中的一个,不一定是人或事物本身

(2) come true意为“(梦想、希望等)实现,成真”,它的主语通常是dream(梦想),wish(希望),idea(想法)等名词,不能是人。

3. The sea level will rise as well. 海平面也会上升。
(1)rise不及物动词,意为“上升;升起”,后面不能跟名词或代词作宾语。
The sun rises in the east. 太阳从东方升起。
(2) as well意为“和;也;又”,相当于too,通常位于肯定句的末尾,不需要用逗号与句子隔开。
My father likes reading and my mother likes it as well.
= My father likes reading and my mother likes it, too.
我父亲喜欢读书,我母亲也喜欢。
4. … not only over land, but also over the sea or even into space.
……不仅是陆地上空,而且可以飞到海上甚至进入太空。
not only…but also…意为“不仅……而且……”,在句子中连接两个并列的成分,重在强调but also之后的部分,also也可省略。
Her aunt is not only a writer but also a singer.
她的姑姑不仅是一位作家,而且还是一位歌唱家。
[注意]当not only…but also…连接句子的主语时,谓语动词在人称和数上与but also后的部分保持一致。
Not only Kate but also Jim likes playing tennis.
不但凯特,而且吉姆也喜欢打网球。

设计说明
本单元是复习单元,主要复习一般将来时的用法。因内容较多,应把教学环节安排得紧凑合理,能优化的就尽量优化。让学生朗读教材上的Language practice中的句子,和学生一起总结一般将来时的结构及其用法,通过活动1、2的训练题目,加强学生对一般将来时的实际运用能力。通过活动3、4的训练,让学生进一步掌握本模块所学的单词和短语。教学中,把第5、6、7三个活动整合在一起,使教学内容更充实、更有操作性。还有,“世界各地”内容相对简单,故按简短的阅读理解来处理了。
教学目标
通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:
1.知识目标:
(1)复习巩固本模块所学的生词和短语;
(2)复习巩固一般将来时的用法;
(3)复习形容词在句子中的位置。

表示将来某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态,也可表达对将来的预测。
时间状语
in the future, “in+一段时间”,tomorrow, next week等常与一般将来时态连用。
No one will do heavy work in the future.将来没有人做沉重的工作。
We will be busy tomorrow.明天我们将很忙。
四、各种句式结构
肯定句:主语 + will + 动词原形+其他.
We will play football next Sunday. 下个星期天我们将踢足球。
否定句:主语 + will not +动词原形+其他.
We won’t play football next Sunday. 下个星期天我们将不踢足球。
一般疑问句:Will +主语+动词原形+其他?
肯定回答:Yes, … will.
否定回答:No, … will.
—Will you play football next Sunday? 下个星期天你们将打篮球吗?
—Yes, we will. 是的,我们将打篮球。
—No, we won’t. 不,我们不打篮球。
特殊疑问句:疑问词 + will +主语+动词原形+其他?

五、will与be going to的区别
1.“will+动词原形”表示客观上将要发生的事情。
They will visit a lot of interesting places.他们将参观许多有趣的地方。
2. “be going to +动词原形”表示主观上打算要做的事情或眼下将要发生的事情。
They are going to help us.他们打算帮助我们。
六、there be句型的一般将来时态
There will be +主语+其他.
There is / are going to be +主语+其他.
There will be an English party this evening.
今天晚上将有一个英语聚会。
