Unit 1 Once upon a time...
设计说明
本单元主要以对话形式展开,话题围绕《金凤花和三只熊》这个传统故事展开。通过童话故事训练学生的听说能力,并让学生了解在英语中叙述的事情要用一般过去时。童话故事的情节容易引起学生的兴趣,因此在教学过程中,可利用故事的内容展开听、读、说的训练,并利用语境帮学生理解一般过去时的意义和语法规则。
教学目标
通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:
1.知识目标:
掌握单词和短语:hair, gold, forest, once, upon, once upon a time, decide, go for a walk, basket, notice, all alone, dark, pick, pick up, soon, lost, around, little, towards, knock, door, answer, push, enter, bowl, hungry, right, finish。
2.能力目标:
(1)能听懂简单故事中的主要人物和事件;
(2)能用一些规则动词的过去式描述过去的事情或讲一个故事;
(3)能读懂简单的故事,明白主要人物和事件及情节的先后顺序;
(4)能用一些规则动词的过去式对故事情节进行描述。
3.情感目标:
通过金凤花的故事,学会选择最适合自己的;通过阅读童话故事提高对英语的学习兴趣,感受学英语的乐趣。
重点难点
重点:通过童话故事训练学生的听说能力,让学生了解在英语中叙述过去的事情要用动词的过去式。
难点:让学生掌握动词过去式的形式并正确使用一般过去时。

Step 1 Warming-up
1.Ask the students to have a free talk in groups:
What fairy stories do you know?
2. Show some pictures of fair stories to help them.

3. Play a guess game to practice some new words and expressions:
The teacher does some actions and lets the students guess: “What am I doing? (pick some flowers/notice a house/hurry towards the house/ knock on the door…)”

Step 6 Language points
1. The story begins: Once upon a time...这个故事开头是:从前……
once upon a time意为“从前”,常用于一般过去时。类似的短语有:long long ago 很久很久以前。这些短语常用作故事的开头。
Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Jenny.
从前,这儿住着一个叫珍妮的女孩。
2. She decided to go for a walk in the park with her basket.
她决定提着篮子去公园里散步。
(1) decide作动词,意为“决定”,主要用法如下:
①其后接名词或代词。
I can’t decide the date of the meeting.
我决定不了这次会议的日期。
②其后接动词不定式或“疑问词+动词不定式”。
decide (not) to do sth.决定(不)做某事。
He decided to buy a car. 他决定买一辆汽车。
We can’t decide when to start.
我们无法决定何时动身。
3. Oh, did she often go for a walk in the forest alone?
哦,她经常独自去森林里散步吗?
alone此处作副词,意为“单独;独自地”,在句中作状语,相当于by oneself。还可作形容词,意为“单独的”,只能作表语,形容独自一人的状态,不含感彩。
【链接】lonely只能作形容词,既可作表语,也可作定语。修饰人时意为“孤独的,寂寞的”;修饰地方时意为“偏远的;荒凉的” 。

4. And soon she was lost.很快她就迷路了。
lost在此处作形容词,意为“迷路的”。be/get lost迷路。
I always get lost in new places. 我在新地方总是迷路。
【拓展】① 作形容词,还可意为“丢失的”。
I found my lost key.我找到了我丢失的钥匙。
②作动词lose的过去式,意为“丢失;输掉”。lose one’s way迷路。
I lost my keys yesterday.我昨天丢了钥匙。
5. Then she noticed a little house, so she hurried towards it, and knocked on the door. 接着,她注意到一幢小房子,于是她赶快朝那幢房子走去,敲了敲门。
(1) notice在此处用作及物动词,意为“注意”,其后可接名词、代词等。
He didn’t notice me just now. 他刚才没注意到我。
【辨析】 notice sb. do sth. 与 notice sb. doing sth.
①notice sb. do sth. 注意到某人做了某事(强调动作的全过程和完成性)
Did you notice Jack come in?你注意到杰克进来了吗?
②notice sb. doing sth. 注意到某人正在做某事(强调动作的进行性)
Did you notice him drawing a picture?
你注意到他在画画吗?
(2) little在此处用作形容词,意为“小的”,多用作定语,修饰名词。
There are several little towns along the river.
沿河有几个小镇。
(3) hurry在此处用作动词,意为“匆忙,仓促”,主要用法如下:
①“hurry+副词/介词短语”意为“匆忙去……”,hurry习惯上不与go、come、move 等动词搭配使用。
He hurried home.他匆忙回家了。
②hurry up赶快。用于肯定句中,在否定句中通常不用up。
He told us to hurry (up).他叫我们赶快。
6. She finished all the food in it. 她把里面的食物都吃完了。
finish在此处作及物动词,意为“吃完;完成”。其后常接名词、代词或v. -ing。finish doing sth.做完某事。
I finished my homework.
=I finished doing my homework.我完成了家庭作业。
Step 7 Practice
1. Get the students read the words from the box in Activity 5.
2. Ask them to work in groups and complete the passage with the correct form of the words.
3. Let some groups share their answers.
4. Check the answers together.

try在此处作及物动词,意为“尝试”。 try的第三人称单数形式是tries, 过去式是tried。

2. It was not comfortable either. 它也不舒服。
either在此处用作副词,意为“也”,通常用于否定句的句末。
I don’t like the red shirt and I don’t like the green one either.
我不喜欢这件红衬衫,也不喜欢那件绿衬衫。
【拓展】either用作代词,意为“(两者之中)任一、任何一个”。在句中可作主语和宾语,作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。

3. Very soon, she was asleep in it.她很快在上面睡着了。
asleep 形容词,意为“睡着的”,习惯上只用作表语,不用于修饰名词。

4. The Three Bears returned. 三只熊回来了。
return 作动词,意为 “返回,回来(去)”。return to…=go/ come back to…回到某地
【注意】其后接地点副词时,地点副词前不加介词to。
She returned home at once after work.她下班后马上回家。
【拓展】return作动词还可意为“归还 (某物) ”。
常用短语:return sth. to sb. =give sth. back to sb.
We must return the books to the library in a week.
我们必须在一周内把书还给图书馆。
5. Baby Bear cried, “There's nothing in my bowl and my chair is in pieces!”小熊哭道:“我的碗空了,椅子也散架了!”
(1) cry 作动词,意为“哭,喊叫”,其过去式和过去分词均为cried。
Don’t cry, your mother is coming! 别哭,你妈妈来了!
(2) in pieces破碎;piece 作名词,意为“部件,碎片”。
I threw a ball at the window, and it was in pieces.
我朝窗子扔了一个球,窗户碎了。
6. Then Baby Bear pointed at the little girl in his bed and shouted…后来,小熊指着它床上的小女孩喊了起来……
point在此处用作动词,意为“指向”。
【拓展】①point out指出,使注意
The teacher pointed out the mistake. 老师指出了这个错误。
②point to指向
He pointed to the door and there I saw a girl smiling at me.
他指向门,我看见那里有一位姑娘朝我微笑。
③point at指着
The teacher pointed at the map.老师指着地图。
7. There’s the bad girl! 那个坏女孩在那儿!
此句为倒装句,其正常语序为:The bad girl is there! 当表地点或方位的副词、介词或介词短语放在句首时,若主语为名词,则句子常采用主谓完全倒装语序;但当主语为人称代词时,主谓不倒装。
—Look! There comes the bus! 看!公共汽车来了!
—Oh, there it comes. 噢,它来了。

一般过去时的用法
一、含义
1. 表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。
I got up at six thirty yesterday morning.
我昨天早上六点三十分起床的。
I visited my uncle last weekend.
上周末我看望了我的叔叔。
2. 表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。
My father often went to work by bus last year.
我的爸爸去年经常乘公共汽车去上班。
He always carried an umbrella last week.
他上个星期总是带着一把伞。
二、时间状语
常用于一般过去时的时间状语有:just now, yesterday, the day before yesterday, last night (week, month, year …), (two days/a week/three years…) ago, in +过去的时间年份Once upon a time…等。
三、含be动词的一般过去时的句型
1.肯定句:主语 + be动词的过去式(was, were)…
He was busy yesterday.
2.否定句:主语 + be动词的过去式(was, were)+ not…
He was not busy yesterday.
3.一般疑问句:be 动词的过去式(Was, Were)+主语 …?
Was he busy yesterday?
四、含规则行为动词的一般过去时的句型
1.肯定句:主语 + 行为动词的过去式+其他.
He walked to school yesterday.
2.否定句:主语 + didn’t + v. (原形) +其他.
He didn’t walk to school yesterday.
3.一般疑问句:Did +主语+v. (原形) +其他?
Did he walk to school yesterday?
肯定回答:Yes, he did.
否定回答:No, he didn’t.
五、动词过去式的规则变化
1. 一般在动词词尾加-ed。
walk—walked
listen—listened
look—looked
2. 以不发音字母“e”结尾的动词后,加-d。
live—lived
notice—noticed
decide —decided
3. 以辅音字母加-y结尾的动词,变y为i,再加-ed。
hurry —hurried carry—carried
cry—cried try—tried
4. 以重读闭音节结尾且词尾只有一个辅音字母的动词,先双写后面辅音字母,再加-ed。
stop—stopped step —stepped
