本单元设置问路与指路的场景,教授学生“Could you tell me how to get to…?”“Go along…go across…”等相关句型。通过听力练习,进一步巩固所学句型;通过对话表演,让学生在真实情境中进行学习,同时也为第二、三单元的学习扫清语言障碍。
教学目标
通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:
1.知识目标:
掌握单词和短语:bank, museum, along, across, cross, opposite, tourist, excuse, excuse me, street, turn, third, guidebook, bookshop, right, Why not…? could, underground, take。
2.能力目标:
(1)能谈论路线和位置;
(2)能通过不同目的的听力训练, 迅速提取有用的信息;
(3)能听懂、读懂、理解和复述对话。

通过听说训练,让学生学会掌握问路和指路常用语以及问路中的礼节,并能运用到生活实践中。

Step 1 Warming up
Ask the following question and let students give different answers.
Step 2 Listening
1. Match the words from the box with the pictures in Activity 1.

[注意]sorry也表示“对不起”,常用于因自己的错误或过失而表示歉意,多用于事后。

(2) the way to意为“去……的路”。

(3)Can you tell me the way to…?是一个问路常用句型,意为“你能告诉我去……的路吗?”。

3. Go across Dong Chang’an Jie, go along the street and turn left at the third street on the left. 穿过东长安街,沿着街走,在左边第三条街道向左转。
(1)across介词,意为“越过”,指在平面上从一边到另一边,常与动词go, walk等动词连用,其后跟road、street、bridge或river等名词。
Go across the bridge,then walk about 200 metres.
穿过那座桥,然后步行大约200米。

(2)along 介词,意为“沿着”。它常与动词go、walk 等连用,表示沿着街道、道路、河边或堤坝等路线走。
Walk along this road,and you’ll see a park on your left.

(3) turn left意为“向左转弯”,turn right意为“向右转弯”。
Turn left at next street. 在下一条街向左转弯。
(4) on the left意为“在左边”,on the right意为“在右边”。
I like the bag on the left. 我喜欢左边的那个书包。
4. Why not ask the policeman over there? 为什么不问问那边的警察呢?
“Why not do sth.?”是一个表示建议或征求意见的固定句型,意为“为什么不做某事呢?”,相当于“Why don’t you / we do sth.?”。
Why not read English in the morning? = Why don’t you read English in the morning?(你)为什么不在早上读英语呢?
[联想] 其他表示建议的常用句型:
(1)Let’s do sth. 咱们做某事吧。
Let’s have a look at the lost and found box. 咱们看一看失物招领箱吧。
(2) What / How about doing sth.? 做某事怎么样?
What about playing football after school? 放学后去踢足球怎么样?
5.Could you tell me how to get to the National Stadium?你能告诉我如何到达国家体育场吗?
(1)could 情态动词,意为“能;可以”,比can更加委婉。“Could you (please) …?”是表示请求对方同意的常用句型,肯定回答常用“Certainly. / Sure.”等,否定回答可以用“Sorry, I can’t.”。
—Could you help me with my maths?
你能帮我学习数学吗?
—Certainly. 当然可以了。
(2) how to get to the National Stadium是“疑问词+动词不定式短语”结构,意为“怎样去国家体育场”,在句中作tell的宾语。“疑问词+动词不定式(短语)”常跟在know, tell等动词之后作宾语。
Can you tell me how to get to the railway station?
你能告诉我怎么去火车站吗?
We don’t know what to do next.
我们不知道下一步做什么。
(3)get to意为“到达”,其后接地点名词。
What time do you usually get to school?
你通常在什么时候到学校?
Step 6 Pronunciation and speaking
1. Play the recording once without stopping.
2. Play the recording again and stop at the end of each line. Ask the whole class to repeat.
3. Ask the students to read the conversation in Activity 3 again and complete the table in Activity 6.
4. Ask the students to draw a map of where they live. Show places. Now ask for and give directions to places on the map.

(2) clear作形容词,意为“晴朗的;清澈的”,指天气晴朗或液体清澈。

4. After visiting the Tower of London, take the boat back along the river to the

past介词,意为“路过(某物或某地);越过”,常与动词go, walk和run等连用指从一侧过去。
Go along the street, walk past a supermarket, you will see the post office.
