1.要求学生听两遍录音,分别完成2a和2b的听力任务。

3.放下听力材料,要求学生模仿听力内容,利用2a和2b的信息分角色进行对话练习,完成2c的任务。然后邀请2-3名同学当堂演示。看哪一对的表现最佳。

【用法】allow是及物动词,其后可以跟名词、动词或动名词作宾语,还可接动词不定式作复合宾语,构成allow sb.to do sth.的句型,意为“允许某人做某事”。如:Mrs.Smith doesn't allow smoking in the living room.史密斯夫人不允许在客厅吸烟。His parents allow him to play basketball for an hour a day.他父母允许他每天打一小时篮球。
【拓展】allow用于被动语态时可以直接跟动词不定式作宾语,即构成be allowed to do sth.结构,意为“被允许做某事”。如:The students aren't allowed to play with mobile phones in class.学生们在课堂上不允许玩手机。
2.I got into a fight with my best friend.(P25)
我和我最好的朋友打了一架。
【用法】get into a fight with是一个固定短语,意为“与……打架”,相当于have a fight with。这里fight是可数名词,意为“打架;吵架;战斗”。如:Jim had a fight with a boy from Class Three yesterday.昨天吉姆和三班的一个男孩打了一架。
【拓展】fight还可作动词,意为“打架;争吵;斗争”。用作及物动词时,后面接名词、代词作宾语;用作不及物动词时,常与with、against、back、for、off、out等词连用。常用短语:fight with与……打架,与……斗争,用……作战;fight against与……作斗争,与……争吵;fight for为……而战斗。

【用法】work out是动词短语,意为“成功地发展;解决”,相当于get along with。如:We can find a way to work out this problem.我们可以找到解决这个问题的方法。
【拓展】work out其他用法:(1)意为“算出;得出”。如:I'll give you five minutes to work out this math problem.我给你5分钟来解答这个数学难题。
(2)意为“想出;制定出”。如:They must work out a plan as quickly as possible.他们必须尽快制定出一个计划来。
(3)意为“(情况等的)发展,进行”。如:Everything has worked out according to the plan.一切都依计划进行。

(2)offer也可作名词,意为“提供;提议;出价”,其后一般接介词for表示“……的出价”;也可接of短语或动词不定式作定语。如:Her offer for the house is too high.她对这个房子的开价太高了。

1.认真阅读4a中的句子,然后用although,so that和until填空,请几位学生到黑板上写答案,完成后教师点拨核对答案,学生大声朗读句子,体会三个单词或短语的用法。
2.认真阅读4b中的句子,针对每个问题,写出自己的建议,完成后和你的搭档比较一下,看看谁的建议比较好。
3.阅读4c右面方框中的句子,然后从中选择一个问题,仿照所给的对话形式向你的同学征求建议。
Step 4 重点词汇与句式攻关

你把家庭作业忘在家里了。
【用法】leave在此处作动词,意为“忘记;落下”,常构成leave sth.somewhere结构,意为“把某物忘在某地”。如:I left my coat in the library.我把外套忘在图书馆了。
【拓展】leave作动词还可意为“离开”。如:He left without saying a word.他没说一句话就离开了。
2.My cousin borrows my things without returning them.(P28)
我堂兄借了我的东西没有归还。
【用法】return在这里作动词,意为“归还”,相当于give back。如:You may use my bicycle,but you must return it this evening.你可以用我的自行车,但今晚一定要送回来。
【拓展】return作动词,还可意为“返回”,相当于come back,其后跟宾语时要加介词to。如:They will return to China in three days.他们将在三天后返回中国。
3.although的用法
although与though的用法区别:
(1)用作连词。表示“虽然”,两者大致同义,可换用,只是although比though更为正式。如:
Though/Although it was raining,we went there.
虽然下着雨,但我们还是去了那儿。
(2)用作副词。although一般不用作副词,而though可用作副词,且一般放在句末(不放在句首),意为“可是,不过”。如:
It's hard work;I enjoy it though.
工作很辛苦,可是我乐意干。
You can count on him,though.
不过你可以指望他。
(3)用于习语。在as though(好像,仿佛),even though(即使,纵然)等固定短语中不能用although。如:
She closed her eyes as though she were tired.
她闭上眼,仿佛累了一样。
We felt as though we had witnessed the whole thing.
我们觉得好像目击了整个事件似的。
He is an honest man,I must say,even though I have opposed him.
尽管我反对过他,但我得说他是一个诚实的人。
She was always afraid of men,even though she had lots of boyfriends.
尽管她有很多男朋友,她总是害怕男人。
4.so that的用法
so that作“以便,为了”讲时,引导表示目的的状语从句,此时可与in order that换用;从句谓语中常有情态动词may/might,can/could,should,would等;主从句间连接紧凑,没有逗号相隔。如:
My old father began to study computer at the age of sixty so that(=in order that)he might keep up with times.
父亲六十岁时才开始学习电脑,以便跟上时代的步伐。
I spend more time learning English every day so that(=in order that)I can make greater progress this year.
为了今年取得更大的进步,我每天用了更多的时间学英语。
so that“因此,所以”,引导一个表示结果的状语从句,此时不能与in order that换用;从句中谓语根据需要使用相应的时态,主从句间可有逗号相隔。本文开头所列举例句中的so that就是这种用法。如:
She had not planned her time well,so that she did not finish her homework on time.
她没把时间计划好,所以没按时完成家庭作业。
Wang Lang did not work hard enough,so that she is out of work when she is still young.
王朗工作不够努力,因此,她年纪轻轻就失业了。
so that引导目的状语从句时,可以与表目的的动词不定式(not)to do/so as(not)to do/in order(not)to do互换。但主从句主语须一致(句①②),否则不能转换(句③)。
①We went to the airport so that we might meet Professor Yang there.
→We went to the airport to/in order to/so as to meet Professor Yang there.
②They had to walk a long way to/in order to/so as to fetch some firewood.
→They had to walk a long way so that they might fetch some firewood.
③Telephone him at once so that he may not worry about us.

【用法】(1)本句是until引导的时间状语从句,until前的continue是延续性动词,用肯定形式。
(2)continue是动词,意为“持续;继续存在”,指动作或状态的继续或持续不中断,可接名词、动名词、动词不定式或that从句作宾语。如:They want to continue their education.他们想继续读书。
【拓展】(1)表示继续做某事或不停地做某事,其后可接名词、动名词或不定式,这时continue to do sth.与continue doing sth.意思差别不大。如:He continued working(to work)when he was ill.他在生病期间一直坚持工作。
(2)continue表示“(在停止后)继续做某事”时,后接的宾语常有story、article、journey等,也可跟动名词作宾语。如:Are you going to continue watching TV after dinner?晚饭后你还继续看电视吗?
(3)continue还可用作系动词,表示继续处于某种状态,其后可接形容词、副词、介词短语等。如: The weather continued fine.天气仍然很好。

【用法】be always doing sth.意为“总是做某事”,带有说话人的感彩。compare是动词,意为“比较”,常用短语compare...with...,意为“把……和……作比较”。如:Compare your answers with those at the back of the book to see if they are right.把你的答案同书后面的答案对照一下,看看是否正确。
【拓展】(1)compare后接with表示“比得上”,多与情态动词can连用,但一般用于否定句或疑问句中。如:I can't compare with him in English.在英语方面我比不上他。
(2)compare...to...意为“把……比作……”。如:People compare the kids to flowers.人们把孩子比作花朵。
