1. I’m afraid I don’t like cheese.
Language points
afraid 表示 “恐怕的，担心的，害怕的”。
此处I’m afraid表示婉转的语气。如：
Never be afraid to express yourself.
不要害怕表达你的情感。
Don't be afraid of the dog.
别怕那只狗。
I’m afraid I can’t go there.
我恐怕不能去那儿。

strong在这里是“(味道)很浓、很重的” 意思，还有“强壮的, 强大的”的意思。

try to do sth. 着重指尽全力去做某事,但不强调成功与否,其意义相当于try one’s best to do sth.；try doing sth. 着重指试着通过某种方法去做某事, 看是否有效。如：

5. Shall I get the sugar?
shall为助动词, 当说话人主动提出要做某事，或主动提出帮助时，常用shall I …?如：
Shall I get some food for you?
我去给你弄点食物吧？
Shall I fry the fish for dinner?
晚饭要不要我炸鱼？
shall用在问句中表示征求对方意见或提建议, 主要用于第一、三人称, 意为“……好吗? 要不要……?”。如：
Shall we begin now?
我们现在开始好吗?
Shall I wait outside?
我在外面等好吗?
Shall I turn on the lights?
我开灯好吗?
6. … are you sure that’s sugar?
sure用作形容词，意为“肯定的；当然的；有把握的”。
1). be sure (不接其它词)，意为“肯定的”。如：
Are you sure?
你能肯定吗？
I think he is coming, but I'm not quite sure.
我想他要来，但我不十分肯定。
2). be sure to do sth. 表示要求，意为“务必做某事；请一定做某事”，多用于祈使句。如：
Be sure to telephone me and give me all the news.
请一定要给我打电话,让我知道所有的消息。
be sure to do sth. 还可表示一种推断，意为“一定做某事；肯定做某事”。如：
The child is sure to be a teacher.
这孩子一定会成为一名教师。
You are sure to win.
你(们)肯定会赢。
3). be sure of (doing) sth. 表示人对某事(物)的看法，意为“对……有把握”。其后常接名词、代词或动词-ing形式。如：
Are you sure of passing the exam?
你有把握通过考试吗？
4). “be sure+从句”意为“确信”。如：
I'm not sure if he will come.
我不确信他是否会来。
