There are thousands of jokes which use “play on words” to amuse us. One person asks a question which expects a particular reply. Instead, what he gets is another kind of answer which makes the situation funny. Now read some of these customer and waiter jokes and match the joke. Can you match the joke with the explanation?

W: Swimming. I think!

The first person is angry about something and wants to say “Why is this here?” The second person treats it as a request for information, and gives an answer to the question.
