Step 1 Lead-in
上课前,播放一段“In,On,Under”方位介词的歌曲。
Step 2 Presentation
1.看老师展示学校周围公共场所的图片,在老师的指导下正确读出其英文名称。
2.小组竞争,快速说出公共场所的英文名称。注意使用There is a...句型。
3.展示学生自己家周围环境的图片,并使用句型:There is a...near my home。
4.观看1a图片,把公共场所和其单词进行搭配。
Step 3 Listening 1b
1.仔细听一听,在1a中圈出所听到的场所名词。
(听力指导:做好听力题的两个关键:一是听前看图片或者文字材料;二是听时抓住关键词。)
2.再听一遍并跟读,注意问路的语气以及场所名词的读音。
3.同伴之间或小组内读一读1b对话,同时在图中指出其所在的位置,使用句型:There is a...on...Street。
Step 4 Teach Activity 1c
1.模仿1c的对话,同伴之间根据1a的图片,选择任意公共场所进行对话练习。
—Is there a...near here?
—Yes, there is.It's on...Street.
2.在老师的示范下,利用学生自己的居住或学习环境的图片,谈论一些公共场所的位置。
Step 5 Teach Activity 2a
First, lead students to have a look at the pictures and say what they can see in each picture.
Then ask six students to read the sentences in the box and translate them into Chinese.
Next ask students to match the sentences with the pictures.
Check the answers later.

Step 6 Listening 2b
First,lead students to have a quick look at the words and sentences so that they can know what to do.
Then play the tape for students to listen,ask them to listen carefully and fill in the blanks with the words in the box.
After they finish doing the activity,play the tape again to check the answers.
Step 7 Teach Activity 2c
Teacher points to the list of places in 1a and asks a student to read the list aloud.
Then point to the question and answer in the speech bubbles in 2c and ask a pair of students to read the conversation to the class. Ask other pairs of students to repeat the activity if you wish.
Next, have students work in pairs. First, one student asks a question and then the other student takes a turn. Ask about the buildings in 1a.
You may invite a student to demonstrate the activity. Point to the map and ask:Where's the park?Then choose a student to answer. Guide the student to say:It's across from the bank.
As students work, move around the room and check their progress. Then ask some students to present their questions and answers to the class.
Step 8 Teach Activity 2d
First,give students several minutes to read through the conversation silently to get the main idea of it,and underline the difficult language points at the same time.
Invite a pair of students to role-play the conversation,correct pronunciation and intonation mistakes if any.
Step 9 重点句子
1.There be句型
(1)用法:意思是“某地存在某物/某人”,即强调某人或某物与某地的位置关系。
(2)结构:There be+主语+介词短语。
注意:①There be有There is/There are两种形式。be的单复数由最近一个主语来决定。当最近一个主语为单数或不可数名词时,用There is;当最近一个主语为复数时,用There are。如:
There is a desk and two chairs in the room.
房间里有一张桌子和两把椅子。(最近一个主语是a desk)
There are two chairs and a desk in the room.
房间里有两把椅子和一张桌子。(最近一个主语是two chairs)
②介词短语表示方位、处所时,也可以置于句首。这样的介词有:on,in,under,between(...and...),next to,behind,in front of。如:
Under the tree there are some girls.
树下有一些女孩子。
(3)句型
①一般疑问句是把be动词提前。如:
—Is there an egg on the desk?
——桌子上有一个鸡蛋吗?
—Yes,there is./No,there isn't.
——是的,有。/不,没有。
—Are there any birds in the tree?
——树上有一些鸟吗?
—Yes,there are./No,there aren't.
——是的,有。/不,没有。
②There be句型的否定句是直接在be动词后加not。如:
There aren't any book on the desk.
桌上没有书。
③对There be句型中的方位介词短语提问时,常用where。如:
There is a supermarket on Green Street.
格林街上有一家超市。
→Where is a supermarket?(去掉there)
超市在哪儿?
④对There be句型中的主语提问时,常省略there。如:
There is a desk in the teacher's room.
教师的办公室里有一张桌子。
→What's in the teacher's room?
教师的办公室里有什么?
There are two pens in the pencil case.
铅笔盒里有两支钢笔。
→What's in the pencil case?(注意常用单数)
铅笔盒里有什么?
(4)There be句型与have的区别:前者强调的是一种位置关系;后者强调的是一种所属关系。如:
There is a pen on my desk.
我的桌子上有一支钢笔。(钢笔在我桌子上,但不一定是我的。)
I have a pen.
我有一支钢笔。(不管钢笔在哪儿,都是属于我的。)
2.The pay phone is across from the library.公用电话亭在图书馆对面。
across表示“从某物的一边到另一边;横过……”。如:
Our school is across the street.
我们学校在街的那一边。
across from还可意为“在……的对面”。如:
The hospital is across from the supermarket.
医院在超市的对面。
across from=on the other side of,如:
The house is across from the street.
=The house is on the other side of the street.
这所房子在街道的另一边。
3.The pay phone is next to the library.
公用电话亭在图书馆旁边。
next to意为“紧挨;邻近”。如:
He sits next to me.
他紧挨着我坐。
4.The pay phone is between the post office and the library.公用电话亭在邮局和图书馆中间。
between...and...“在……与……之间”,用于两者之间,注意用宾格。如:
He is between Tom and me.
他在我和汤姆之间。
5.The pay phone is in front of the library.
公用电话亭在图书馆前面。
in front of在……前面(物体外部)。如:
There is a tree in front of our classroom.
我们教室前有一棵树。(树在教室外)
in the front of在……前面(物体内部)。如:
There is a desk in the front of our classroom.
在我们教室的前面有一张桌子。(教室内部)
6.The pay phone is behind the library.
公用电话亭在图书馆后面。
behind意为“在……后面”,是方位介词。如:
behind the chair在椅子后

Ask two rows of three students to stand facing each other in the front of the classroom. Point to students standing in front and ask the class to repeat the questions and answers.
Example 1:
T:Where's Yang Li?(Point to two students standing beside each other.)
Yang Li is next to Li Peng.
Example 2:
T:Where's Zhang Wen?(Point to two students in different lines facing each other.)Zhang Wen is across from Sheng Lin.
Example 3:
T:Where's Wang Yun?(Point to one student standing between two other students.)Wang Yun is between Sheng Lin and Li Dai.

Have the students work in groups.One person chooses a building in 1a but doesn't tell anyone which building it is.The other asks questions like those in Activity 3c until they guess which building it is.
Several students can take turns choosing the building for the others to guess.
