Thousands of people are dying from hunger every day.

2.income n.收入
She suggests you first assess your income and outgoings.

谈及 income(收入), expense(费用),fortune(财产)等多少时,不用much 或little,而用 large或small修饰。
搭配:high/ low income高/低收入
People on a high income should pay more tax.

注意:① measure表示“措施”时,常用其复数形measures。
② measure表示“有……长(宽、高等)”含义时,是连
系动词,后接量的结果,不用于被动语态和进行时态。
