Many students have hobbies, such as reading, painting, growing vegetables and looking after animals. Some hobbies are relaxing and others are active. Hobbies can make you grow as a person, develop your interests and help you learn new skills.3. Read the passage and answer the questions. David Smith is a student, and one of his hobbies is writing. During the summer of 2010, he spent four weeks at a summer camp. As well as the usual activities, such as sailing and climbing, there was a writing class. “The teacher was a writer, and she asked us to talk about our lives and tell interesting stories. Back at school, David wrote a story about the life of a sixteen–year–old boy, and it came out as a book in 2012. ①A as well as B表示“A和B”,是强调A。
②not only A but also B 表示“不但A, 而且B”,

to see you.不仅老师,学生们也会来看望你。(2)activity作名词,意为“活动”。其复数形式
为activities。常用搭配:outdoor activities户

(3)sailing作名词,意为“航海,航行”。例:I

前面的句子构成因果关系, 前面是因,后面是果 。
例:He works hard, as a result, he got a good mark

一个好分数。 【链接】so 作连词,意为“因此,所以”。它表示
结果,既可位于句首,也可位于句中。位于句中时,
其前常有逗号,但其后一般不加逗号。例:As a

(2)become作系动词,意为“成为,变得”。其后可
接名词、形容词作表语。例:He became a
teacher at the age of 25. 他25岁时当了老师。
The weather became warmer. 天气变得更暖和了。

(3)pleasure作名词,意为“愉悦,快乐”。它常
与介词in、of连用。例:He takes no pleasure
in his work. 他从他的工作中得不到丝毫快乐。
常用结构:
①(It's) my pleasure不客气,很乐意效劳。这是当
对方表达谢意时的一种礼貌回答。
②with pleasure当然了,很愿意(效劳)。表示客气
地接受或同意,用来回答对方的请求。
③It's a pleasure to do sth.很高兴做某事。例: It's
a pleasure to meet you. 很高兴见到你。
④It gives sb.great pleasure to do sth.某人很荣幸做
某事。例:It gives me great pleasure to introduce
our guest speaker.我很荣幸来介绍我们的特约演
讲人。
(4)success作名词,意为“成功”。表示抽象意义的
“成功”时,是不可数名词;表示具体意义的
“成功的人或事”时,则是可数名词。
