An African farmer heard that other farmers made lots of money by finding diamond mines(钻石矿). He was very excited, so he sold his farm and spent the rest of his life looking for diamonds. He went to every corner of Africa, used up all his money, but found nothing. At last, he killed himself.
At the same time, the man who had bought his farm happened__to see a beautiful stone on the farm. He picked it up and put it in his sitting room.
Later, a visitor saw the stone. He looked closely at it and then told the second farmer that it was a piece of crude(未加提炼的) diamond. The second farmer was surprised.
