Cultural notes— fat or heavy
关于肥胖我国文化中作为“富态”“心宽体胖”等褒义词。英美等西方国家，人们认为肥胖有损形象，尤其是女性。fat作为形容词，描述人时意义趋于消极，在交往中多会回避使用。描述人时，常使用意义中性(heavy)或委婉的词语(heavy-set)。此外，如果描述某人很瘦，也不宜使用skinny,而用slim显得更为礼貌。
