Step 1 Warming-up and review.
1. Free talk:
T asks some questions :What day is it today?
What date is it today?
When is your birthday?
What would you like as a birthday present?
What do you usually do on your birthday?
2. Review story time
1)Ss recite the story together.
2)Talk about Su Hai’s and Mike’s birthdays
When’s Su Yang’s birthday?
What does she usually do on her birthday?
When’s Mike’s birthday?
What does he do on his birthday?
3) Fill in the blanks and write down
Ss finish the exercises.
Su Hai’s birthday is on the __________. It’s also Su Yang’s birthday. They usually _________ with their parents and grandparents. They have a big dinner and they eat ___________. Then they ______ Kitty the cat. They have_____________.
Mike’s birthday is on the ________ . He always _________ at home.

T shows the cardinal numbers and the ordinal numbers, let the pupils find the rules.
Rules:
(1) four-----fourth six------sixth seven------seventh
(2) one--- first two----second three----third
(3)eight-----eighth nine-----ninth
(4)five-----fifth twelve-------twelfth
(5) twenty-one --------- twenty-first
(6) twenty-----twentieth
基变序有规律,结尾加上th。
一二三特殊记,结尾字母tdd。
八减t九去e, f来把ve替。
若是碰到几十几,只变个位就可以。

T:Some people’s birthday may on the same day of the holiday. I think it’s a happy day for them.

Do the survey in a group, pupils ask about others’ birthdays ,then one pupil makes a report.
