Unit 2 We have not found life on any other planets yet.

Step 1 Warming up
1.Brain storming: Let students think them over and discuss in groups:
How many planets are there in the solar system? What are they?
Is there any life on other planets?
Ask the students to have a discussion and think them over. Then, the teacher shows students the pictures of eight planets.
3.Tell students some background information of people’s effort to land on the moon home and abroad.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask students to work in pairs to talk about Shenzhou-9—a man-made spaceship.
What do you know about it?
Step 3 Fast-reading
Read the passage and choose the best title for it.

Step 4 Careful reading
Para 1:Ask students to read and answer the questions.
(1) How many years do the scientists think there has been life on the earth?
(2) Have we discovered life on other planets?

other 形容词,意为“其他的”,用于修饰名词。
辨析:the other (s)与other (s):
the other与other后可加名词; the others与others后不加名词;the other (s)表示一定范围内除去一部分以外后其余的全体;other (s)表示除去一部分以后的(一些),但不是剩下的全体。

一朵花是红的,另一朵 (花)是白的。

It is taller than many other buildings.它比许多其他的建筑物都高。
None of them has an environment like that of the earth.
它们中没有一个有像地球这样的环境。
辨析:no one与none:
no one的同义词为 nobody, 只用于指人,其后不跟of短语,作主语时谓语用单数,no one 只能回答who提问的问句。
none用于表示对三者或三者以上全部否定,既可指人,也可指物,常用于短语none of+名词复数/代词,表示 “……中没有一个”。作主语时,谓语可以是单数,也可以是复数; none的反义词是all, none可与of连用; 可以用来回答how many 或 how much提问的问句。
None of us are/is interested in the story.我们没有人对那个故事感兴趣。
None of the students in this class has been to England.
这个班没有一个学生去过英国。

—No one. 没人。
—How many students are there in the room?房间里有多少个学生?

辨析:alone与lonely
alone既可作形容词,又可作副词,意为“单独的/地,独自的/地”,没有感彩。
She is afraid of going out alone at night.晚上她害怕一个人出去。
(2) lonely形容词,意为“孤独的,寂寞的”,具有感彩。
He lived alone after his wife left,so he was very lonely.
他妻子离开后,他一个人生活,所以他很孤独。
Do you feel lonely when you are at home alone?
你自己一个人在家时感到孤独吗?

Possible version:
We have just received a message from our spaceship to Mars. Our spaceship has discovered aliens there. They have never sent us a message because they don’t know how to communicate with us. They haven’t visited the earth because they don’t know how to fly to our planet, and they prefer life on Mars. They seem very happy on their planet. They have used parts from the other spacecraft from the earth to make TVs, radios, etc. We hope they don’t do the same with this one!

本单元是复习单元,主要复习现在完成时的用法。因内容较多,应把教学环节安排得紧凑合理。本单元通过学生熟悉的语句导入,让学生对现在完成时深入感知,并为归纳和总结现在完成时态的用法做好铺垫。通过小组合作的形式,归纳和总结现在完成时的用法。通过小组合作,使学生学会制作关于太空旅行的海报。
教学目标
通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标
1.知识目标:
(1)能够运用现在完成时描述人类的太空探索计划,正确使用already, just, yet
(2)能够掌握和辨认句子的重音
2.能力目标:
(1)能够听懂对火星计划的陈述

Step 1 Warming up
Tell students to read the sentences on the textbook. Pay attention to just, yet, already.
I’ve just made a model spaceship.
We have not found life on any other planets yet.
Astronauts have already been to the moon.
Has it arrived yet?
Step 2 Grammar learning(现在完成时)
现在完成时的意义:表达“某人曾经做过某事”“某人已经做了某事”或者“某人刚刚做某事”等意思。
现在完成时的结构:
has/have+done (动词过去分词)
现在完成时的句式结构:
肯定句:Sb.+have/has + done+...
否定句:Sb.+haven’t/hasn’t + done+...
一般疑问句:Have/Has +sb.+done+...
特殊疑问句:Wh-(疑问词)+have/has+(sb.+)done+...
现在完成时的标志词:
与现在完成时连用的几个副词:
肯定句:already, just
疑问句和否定句: ever, yet, never
注意:yet 常置于句末,而already, never, ever, just一般置于助动词have/has之后,动词过去分词之前。
【辨析】have been to 与 have gone to
have gone to表示“去了某地”。说话时该人不在现场,强调尚未回来(go是方向性动词)。
—Where is Jim? 吉姆在哪里?
—He has gone to Beijing.他去北京了。
have been to表示“曾经去过某地”。现在已经不在那里了(be表示状态),后可接次数,如once, twice, three times等,表示“去过某地几次”。也可和just, never和ever等连用。
I have been to Beijing twice.我去过北京两次。
【拓展】have been at/in表示“在某地待了多长时间”,常与表示时间段的状语连用。
I have been in Shanghai for three years.我来上海已有三年了。
