Preparation Show the Answer Box, and tell the groups to try their best to get it.Divided the class into 4 groups.T: Hello everyone, our answer box is coming again. Each group should try your best to get it. Why? Because he can help you complete the discuss part.T: How can you get it? Just answer my questions! Ok, are you ready?Ss: Yes, I am ready.T: Now, let’s begin our class. 候课两分钟设置课堂互动环节,激发学生学习兴趣
Step1.Warming up&Leading in(3 min) 1. Greet the students and Show some beautiful pictures on the screen and then let the students guess the place. T: Today I want to show you a very beautiful place for you. Look at the pictures. The blue sky, the clean water and they are very happy. Where it is?Ss: ……T: It’s Heidi. T: Guess, what’s this? Ss: ……T: Do you think they are the special of Haidi? Now, let’s the boy tell you the truth.T: Why? Because something terrible happened. Terrible means very very bad. 听力前充分引导,帮助学生预测听力内容,降低听力时的心理压力。
2. Show the pictures of Heidi in earthquake, and ask the students “How to help them?”T: earthquake. Just like Wen Chuan, China. The people lost everything in the earthquake. The need our help. Do you want to help them?Ss: Yes.T: How do you want to help them?Ss: ……(give group1 a star ?)T: That’s very kind of you. Your idea is useful. We want to tell the people: Don’t be afraid. We are with you.(the teacher write down : we are with you)T:Now, in Lesson 16, we will learn a story of a boy Jason Glen and his family.(the teacher writes down the name!) 引导学生思考帮助他人的方式,同时也是对听力内容的主题引导。
Step2.Listening(15 min) Have the students listen the text first time and write down the information simply. T: First, let’s listen the text and write down the answers on your study-paper. Please read the questions first.T: Have you got the answers? Which group wants to show your answer on the screen?T: Ok, Group 3. (Have the student read his answer and write down the answers on the blackboard. Give this group a star.) 通过泛听掌握听力材料的基本信息利用听力技巧解决基本问题。题目难度设置适中,课堂每位学生都可参与其中
Have the students listen the text the second time and fill in the blanks.T: all of you have got the main idea of this story. Now let’s listen it again and fill in the blanks. I will give you one minute to read the blanks.T: Are you ready? Here we go.T: who want to show your answer on the screen? T: Great, you are very brave. I will give a star to your group.(the student shows the study paper on the screen, and the teacher use the marker to explain.) 获得文章详细信息,解决生词和短语。熟悉文本,为复述课文做准备。
Retell the story with the key words. 检测学生复述信息的能力
Step3.Discussion & Presentation(20 min) Have the students think about the meaning of helping each other.( The teacher asks the question and the student gives their answer. The teacher gives stars to the groups which answer the questions.) 思考题的设置层层深入,引导学生用不同的方式去关心,关爱他人。检测学生口语表达能力设置课堂互动环节,激发学习兴趣,引导学生思考
Show an example of a song “we are the world” by M.J, and let the students think about the other way of helping people in groups.T: Do you hear the song “we are the world”? It’s very famous around the word. (play the song)T: this song was written by M.J. He raised much money to the poor people in Africa by this song. This is his way to help others. T:Now, let’s enjoy another radio. He is another famouse singer in America, he used this song to help Heidi.And can you think about the other way to help others?(the students discuss in groups.)
Role-play game:One group read the dialogue, and the group which gets the answers box tells the class the other way of helping others by using the sentences “when people…, we need to …”
