Knowledge Aims

taste great, eat... for..., It takes sb. some time to do sth.
Ability Aims:
1.Enable the students to use the new words and phrases correctly.
2.Enable the students to talk about their favorite food.
Emotional Aim: Different people have different preference for different foods. It’s hard to say which is the better one. But we must realize that it not only takes a lot of hard work, but also a long time to cook the cuisine. We must respect food and value it.

Men often say there are four happiest things in the world——to earn American dollars, to eat Chinese food, to marry a Japanese woman and to live in an English house.(Show related pictures.)
Apparently, Chinese food is so famous throughout the world. We have a long and rich food culture. This lesson will lead you to talk about food in China.
StepⅡ:Learning New Words
1.Pronounce the following words for several times. (To make sure Ss can read correctly)

Jenny got back from a trip to the Silk Road. She is telling her friends about the food in China now, especially Beijing Duck and Lanzhou noodles. She thinks that Beijing Duck is really a Chinese treasure. It takes a long time to make Beijing Duck. Lanzhou noodles are long hand-made noodles. It looks good and tastes great. Some people eat noodles for breakfast. Her favorite dishes were Beijing Duck and Lanzhou noodles.
StepⅣ:Talk about Food (Check Ss’ learning result)
People in different provinces(省份) eat different foods in China, such as Cantonese food (粤菜) , Sichuan food(川菜), Hunan dishes, and so on.
Show Ss some pictures of these different kinds of foods and talk about the special dishes.
Have a debate: Which is better, Chinese food or Western food?
Ss may use the following expressions.
It looks nice, good, beautiful... It tastes great, yummy, tasty, delicious, spicy, hot...
It's easy/ hard to make. It takes...(time) to make it. It's expensive/cheap.

Different people have different tastes. It's hard to say which food is the better one. But we must realize that it takes not only time, but also hard work to make the end product. We should respect(尊重) others' hard work and value(珍惜) everything.

读万卷书,行万里路。旅行归来,和家人、朋友畅谈旅行中的见闻,分享自己的感受,是一件多么快乐的事!本单元在第一单元学习丝绸之路旅行的基础上对旅程进行了总结、回顾,前三课重点列举了名胜古迹、名人趣事,在第四节课逐渐深入探讨中国历史文化的博大精深。本课通过詹妮与他人网上发帖互动的形式介绍了丝绸之路旅途中的特色小吃——北京烤鸭和兰州拉面。学生通过对本课的学习能够熟练介绍自己喜爱的食物并思考食物背后的故事,并产生了对历史、文化的深入思考。总体来说本课在教学设计方面比较新颖,引入图片、视频等元素使课堂生动活泼,最后的辩论环节学生热情高涨;重难点的把控及深入挖掘到位;教学流程循序渐进,由易到难,层层深入且教学目标明确,有的放矢。最后的情感目标升华自然合理。面对电脑突发故障,教师也能临危不乱,从容应对,随机应变能力强。
当然教师的每一节课都会留有遗憾,没有一节完美的课,只有对完美教学的不断追求与探索。本课不足之处思考如下:
①教授单词方法较单一,学生容易产生疲惫感。除了教师领读、学生跟读、齐读以外,也可找学生教读、教师示错等。
②对于较难语言点的讲解,仅仅口头示例学生很难理解,应予以板书。如:especially的练习。
③课堂指令应简短清晰,太长的解释性语言反而让学生迷惑不解。
④学生辩论环节是本课的高潮部分,教师不宜急于打断学生发言进行总结和纠错,这严重影响了学生的发言热情和自信。
⑤语言点讲解环节的设置应再斟酌,不宜整体讲解,应在教学过程中逐渐渗透。但是在学生阅读时不宜讲解语言点,影响学生对文章的整体理解。
⑥教师授课前应充分做好物质准备,调试好设备,同时做好心理准备,随时准备应付突发状况,使短暂的课堂40分钟最大限度地发挥主阵地作用。
