population 人口，为集合名词，谓语动词用单数。表示有多少人口时，一般说has a population of ... 或者the population of … is …
e.g. The town has a population of 20000. = The population of the town is 20000. 这个城镇有两万人口
人口多少用large或small修饰。e.g. China is a country with a large population.
中国是一个人口众多的国家。
询问人口多少时，，用What’s the population of……. 或者How large is the population……… 提问。
e.g. What’s the population of Shanghai 上海有多少人
have / has been to表示到过某地，现在不在该地，已经回来。
have / has gone to表示到某地去了，不在本地，或在去某地途中，或已经到达该地。
have / has been in表示呆在某地多久。例如：
He has been in Paris for one year. been=lived/stayed) 在巴黎呆了一年
e.g. They have been to the zoo three times. 他们去过动物园三次。
He has gone to see her uncle. 他去看他叔叔了。

abroad 副词，意为“在国外，到国外”be abroad“出国”，相当于go abroad。如：
She goes abroad every year. 她每年都到国外去。
I’ve been abroad three times this year. 我已经出国三次了。
