agree后可接that引导的宾语从句,that有时可省略,意为“同意……;一致认为……”。

either和neither均可用作代词或副词等。
(1) 用作代词
两者都可作句子的主语、宾语或定语等成分。either意为“两个中的任何一个”;neither意为“两个中没有一个”。这两个词作主语时,谓语动词一般需用单数形式。

(2) 用作副词
either“也”,用于否定句句末。
e.g. Tom doesn’t like math and I don’t like it either.
汤姆不喜欢数学,我也不喜欢。
neither“也不”,用来接别人的话。
e. g. —I don’t like English.
—Neither do I.
—我不喜欢了英语。
—我也不喜欢。

(3) either可与or连用,构成并列连词either ... or ...,意为“或者……或者……”; neither可与nor连用,构成并列连词neither ... nor ...,意为“既不……也不……;……和……两个都不”。
二者连接并列成分作主语时,谓语动词需与邻近的主语在人称和数上保持一致。

elder是形容词,与the连用相当于名字。
the elder可用于区别两个同名的名人,意思是“老;大”
the elders的意思是“老年人;长者;年龄较大的人”。

mean to do sth.“意欲
(打算)做某事”;mean doing sth.
