Lesson 2
Teaching aims:
Knowledge:
1. Master the new words and the new sentences.
2. How to use “was, were”? Learn some verb phrsase and try to describe things in English.
3. Talk about their winter holiday. Tell the students to return to life to share vacation time .

1. Develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
2. Develop the students’ ability for fast response.
Moral education:
Love our lives. Tell the students to return to life to share vacation time .
Teaching Important points:
To talk about the past things.
Learn some verb phrsase and try to describe things in English.
Teaching aids:
Ppt, the words cards and some pictures.

Teaching steps:
Step 1 Let’s chant:
a. Read chant together, read and say sentences .
b.Listen to the chant,.then chant together.
Step 2 Talk about the holidays
1) Ask and answer in pairs with “How was your holiday? It was... ”
2) Look at the pictures ask and answer in pairs like this:
---Where were you during your holiday?
---I was in/at....
---How was your holiday?
---It was...
3)Students show a role play about describing someone according to the new text.
Step 3 Leading

利用节假日同学们所做的事情,用谈话的方式引入今天的主题,教师在黑板上写一些相关的过去式动词短语,引发学生对一般过去式及课文涉及的相关动词过去式的感知、理解、识记。
Step 4 Presentations:
Look at the pictures of PPT,learn the words and phrases,

Step5 Knowledge and drills
1) Learn the key qunestions.
What did you do during your holidays ?

2) Ask and answer.
S1: Look at my photo
S2: Wow, it’s beautiful. What did you do during your holidays?
S1: We went to shanghai this summer together.
S2: How did you get there?
S1: We went there by plane.
S2: Did you have a good time?
S1: Sure. We stayed in a town. It’s quiet and nice. We enjoyed the different kinds of fruits there.
S2: That’s must great!
1. To talk about the picture by using the sentences:
---How was your holiday?
---It was wonderful.
---Did you have a good time?
---I watched TV on the eve of the Spring Festival.
---How long did you stay there?
---3 weeks.
2.To learn to say the dialogue.
Let the students listen to the tape recording with their books closed. Then listen to the dialogue two times with their books open. Read after the tape recording. Try to say this dialogue fluently.
Step 6小组讨论课前小研究
1. Match the pictures in the right way.
2. Translate the sentences according to the Chinese meaning.
Step 7Ask and answer in pairs:
What did you do during your holidays?
How was your holiday?

Step 8、展示提升:
1. Students are supposed to learn some words of places in a school and some phrases about the activities in school. Then match the places with the right activities. This exercise can help students to learn the new words by themselves.
2. This exercise is based on the last one and it’s an written practice. Students write the English sentences according to the Chinese meaning.
Step 9 Practice
Do the exercises on the exercise book.
This exercise can detect if the students master the language points and the new words.
