Unit 1 Lesson 2 Meet You in Beijing 说课稿
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.
I divided this representation with five parts: the analysis of the teaching material, the teaching strategies, the learning methods, the teaching procedures and the blackboard design.
Part 1. The analysis of the teaching material
1. The position of the teaching material
The lesson I will teach today is Lesson2 of Unit 1 Book 2, New Junior English for China, published by Hebei Education Press. The topic of this lesson is Meet You in Beijing. By studying this lesson, we know that Jenny and Danny will come to Beijing and travel along the Silk Road, so Liming and Wang Mei will meet them in Beijing. The topic of this unit is A Trip to the Silk Road. Therefore, this lesson is in the important position in this unit.
2. Teaching Aims
According to the new standard curriculum,the syllabus and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are as the following:
Knowledge aim: enable students to master some words and expressions and help them understand the content of this lesson.
Ability aim: develop students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, especially their reading ability and then they can set up their effective studying strategies by training their abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating with others.
Moral aim: As for the moral object, I`d like to get the students to make a good plan and have a good trip. Meanwhile, pay more attention to increasing the students’ interest in learning English and setting up their self-confidence by completing the task.
3. The important and difficult points
Based on the requirement of the syllabus, the important point is that students can say numbers and talk about the distances between two places. As for the difficult point, what I did is that let the students work in groups and find out their plan for the trip and what they are talking about before coming to China .
Part 2. Teaching strategies
As we known, good teaching strategies require that the teacher should not only help the students develop good sense of the English language, but also create a good language atmosphere to stimulate the students’ interest in learning English. To achieve these teaching goals, I used the following strategies:
1. Communicative Approach
2. Task-based Language Teaching Approach
3. Situational Teaching Approach
4. Group Cooperating Teaching Approach
Part 3. Learning methods
According to the new standard curriculum, I created a student- centered class and offered the students opportunities to participate in class to share and exchange their ideas with the group members actively, which made them experience in the situation, and at the same time, develop their sense of cooperation and competition.
Part 4. Teaching procedures
Step1. Pre-reading(Lead-in)
By playing a passing game, let students master how to say numbers .The purpose of my lead-in is to attract the students’ attention and arouse their interest in learning English.
Step2. While-reading:
Skiming
Fast reading is a good way to train the students` ability of reading , so the first thing I`d like to do is to ask the students to look through the passage quickly and write true of false.
Scanning
In order to help students understand the text better, I`d like to get the students to read the text again and find out more details about the plan and what they are talking before coming to China. Task-based teaching method is used here to develop the ss` ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.
Step3. Post-reading:(making a dialogue)
After learning this lesson, students should know how to say numbers and ask distances, so let them make a dialogue : Where will you go ?How far is it from …to …? This is a good way to train the students` abilities of communication and team work.
Step4. Summary:
At the end of class , I`d like to give a summary about this lesson and we shoud make a good plan before traveling and have a good trip while traveling
Step5. Homework:
My homework in this lesson is to get the students to finish let`s do it 2 and 3. Homework is important and necessary for students to master the knowledge they have learned. Also it is a good way to cultivate the students' comprehensive ability.

Part 5. Blackboard design
(While teaching, I used a mind map to show the structure of the text so that the students may get a clue of the text and have a better understanding of the whole text. )
In a word, as a teacher, what I should do in teaching is to act as a guider, an organizer and a director who plays a role to help the students to become more independent and successful learners.
