Warming-up1) Listen to the song: ”Where do you come from?” Ask the students to sing the song and review the pattern “where”. 2) Ask the students to answer: Where do you come from?I come from…. Where do you live?I live…. 3) Show the picture of this lesson ,ask the students to say the places of the group in English.: We/I live at 26 Purple Street. We’re/I’m at 31 Apple Street.Step2.Presentation1) Ask the students to play the game,” Listen, stand up and say”. At the same time, review the old knowledge and learn the new words. 2) Look at the pictures carefully and try to say: There’s a bank, a clothes shop and a cake shop in the picture. 3) Ask the students to take out a piece of paper, according to the picture and their place to make an English name of each group and show it to the whole class. 4)Point to the picture, help the students understand the meaning of the following: next to,across the road,on the left/right of,neighbourhood,food stall. 5)Listen to the tape , and ask the students to read after it and repeat the main points for thrice.: Next to the hairdresser is a clothes shop. Across the road, there is a noodle restaurant. 6)Listen to the tape again and answer the following questions: Where do you live? Where is the bank/cake shop /grocery shop…? Is the bank/ noodle shop on the main street? What’s in your neighbourhood /park? What’s next to the bank/noodle restaurant? Is there a zoo/supermarket in your neighbourhood? What is the park like? 7)Ask the students to open the book an read the book.Step3.Practice1) According to the place of their own to say something about “neighbourhood., 2) Ask one of the group students to report to the whole class, others help him or her. The teacher checks the answer and finds out the mistakes. 3) Ask the students to use the paper and draw their own neighbourhood, and then describe it in English.Step4. Assessment Step5.
