Charles Dickens (1812-1870)
He is one of England’s most famous
novelists, who described life in the
middle of the 19th century. Many of
Dickens’ novels take place in London.
The photo shows a famous scene from
the film of Oliver Twist ，which is
about an orphan boy living in a large
house called a workhouse.
