An Italin marathon runner, Dorando Pietri, entered the stadium and took a wrong turn during the race. Although he fell down several times, he stood up again and again and went on running. Later, he was treated by a doctor and he was helped to go across the finishing line. At first, he was given first place, and the American runner Johnny Hayes was given second place. But after a discussion, the American runner was given first place.
The most important thing is that one should never lose the courage to move on.

被动语态的特例
1). 含有双宾语的动词的被动语态
一般把间接宾语变成被动句的主语,若将直接宾语变为主语,则在间接宾语前加上介词to
或for。常用介词to的动词有:give,lend, send等;常用介词for的动词有. borrow,make, buy
My father gave me a new book on my birthday.
—I was given a new book (by my father) on my birthday.(间接宾语作主语)
A new book was given to me (by my father) on my birthday.(直接宾语作主语)
在我生曰那天,我爸爸给了我一本新书。
2). 带有复合宾语的动词的被动语态
带有复合宾语(宾语和宾语补足语)的主动语态变为被动语态时,只需把宾语变为被动语态的主语,原来的宾语补足语成为主语补足语。同时,如果宾语补足语是省to的不定式,变为被动语态时,必须加上动词不定式符号to。这类动词有make, see, here, watch等。
