英语句子的自然顺序是主语在前, 谓语
在后。把谓语动词放在主语之前, 就叫
倒装结构。如果全部谓语放在主语之
前, 叫全部倒装; 如果只把助动词或be
动词,情态动词放在主语之前就叫部分倒装。
倒装 Inversion
1. 在there be句型中，如：
1) There are some desks in the classroom.
2) There used to be a temple on the top
of the mountain.
3) There are some beautiful flowers.
完全倒装
2. 在以here, there, out, in, up, on, away,
off, down等副词开头的句子中。
1) There goes the bell.
2) Here comes the train.
3) Out rushed the little girl.
4) Away went Grandpa.
5) In came a group of policemen.
但如果主语是人称代词时，不用倒装。
如：Here it is.
Down it dropped.
3. 当表示地点的介词短语在句首时。
1) In front of the old house sat an
old woman.
2) On the top of the mountain
stands a tower.
1. only所修饰的副词、介词短语或状语从句放在句首时。
1) Only then did he know that he was
rejected by the boss.
2) Only in this way can you collect more
stamps.
3) Only when her father came back was
she able to go to school.
部分倒装
2. 一些含有否定或半否定的词语, 如hardly, never, not, not only, little, seldom, no sooner，in no way,by no means ,under no circumstance放在句首时。
1) Never have I been to the mountain
village.
2) Not a single word did he write in
the class.
3) Little did the boy know about the
rules of English grammar.
3. 用so作简单回答时表明前面说的情况也适用于另一个人。
1) He likes swimming in summer very
much. So do I.
2) We saw the football match last week.
So did they.
3) The girl can speak fluent English.
So can the boy.
4. 用neither, nor放在句首, 表示前面的否定内容也同样适合另外一个人。
1) He has never been to Shanghai.
Neither have I.
2) He didn’t find any useful material in
the book. Nor did I.
7.以否定副词开头做部分倒装的固定句式如：neither....nor,not only ....but also,hardly....when,no sooner....than
a.Neither at this meeting nor at the previous did they discuss the problem.
b.Not only did he teacher school,but also he wrote novels.
c.Hardly had he got off the plane when his wife ran to him.
