2. Make notes about your ideas.
For Against
Now use the expressions to help you write your composition.
Some people think that it would be better if
everyone in the world spoke English.
Firstly, ……..talk to everyone easily and understand everything……
Furthermore, business and politics
would be easier, ………..
On the other hand,….. the world would be a less interesting place…..
Next, ……national identity(身份).
In conclusion, ……….
For Against
Communication would be easier.
Business would be smoother.
Everyone could talk to everyone else.
There would be no misunderstanding.
International meetings would be cheaper – no need for translators and interpreters.
Countries would lose their own identity.
Everything would be just the same.
The world would be more boring.
There would be less individual cultural differences.
In conclusion, I feel that while it would certainly make many areas of life such as travel, business and politics much easier, it would also make the world a more boring and duller place to live in. I think that we need cultural diversity as humans---it makes us richer. I would therefore like everyone to learn English as a second language very well for the benefits mentioned, but not lose their own languages in the process.
