Job interviews can be very different from country to country. An interviewer's “body language” and question, and the form of an interview are not the same around the world.
If you're at a job interview in Japan, don't look directly into the eyes of the interviewer. It is considered impolite. But if you're at an interview in the US, you should make eye contact (交流) with the interviewer. If you don't, the interviewer may think you are not sure about your ability.
In the US and some other countries, interviewers aren't supposed to ask questions about family and personal information. In most countries, however, personal questions are very common during job interviews.
In Germany, your interview might begin with a very short conversation followed by a formal (正式的) interview. In Mexico and many other countries, the whole interview might not be formal.

My parents seldom encouraged me to ask for help, so I trained myself to become as independent as possible. I thought if I asked for help, I would be a problem to other people.
A few years ago, I was on a trip. In order to save money, I planned to stay in a stranger's house by CouchSurfing (沙发客). When I arrived in the host's city, it was rainy. It was also very cold.
My host was very friendly. She gave a warm welcome and offered me a hot meal. After the meal, she invited me to go on a walk with her around her city. At that time, I didn't even have the right shoes for the bad weather. I wanted to ask her whether she had any shoes for me. But I didn't want to trouble her. Finally, I said nothing.
It was really cold outside, and the heavy rain made my shoes wet. When we got home three hours later, I had lost all feelings in my feet. That night, I had a bad cold. I had a high fever and a headache. That was all because I wouldn't ask. In fact, it was very easy.
From that day, I tried hard to get through my fear of asking. It has taken me a long time. From my experience, I have discovered that people are always happy to offer help. And I have realized that asking is not a sign of weakness. Asking gives you the opportunity to discover the kindness of others.
59. Why did the writer say nothing in the end?
A. The host was not friendly enough to him.
B. The writer didn't want to trouble the host.
C. The host didn't have any good shoes for him.
D. The writer didn't want to be independent any more.

I'm not much of a crier most of the time. But recently when I was reading a book on a plane, I started crying. Of course, it came as a big surprise when tears came up. No matter how hard I tried, I wasn't able to control myself.
Oh no, not this now. I thought to myself. But even as the thought entered my brain, I felt the first hot drop of salty water coming down my face. I put my head down, hoping that I could go on reading.
In fact, the harder I tried, the more tears pushed their way out of my eyes. You could guess how surprised the man next to me looked.
I dropped my head in shame. He must think I was crazy. Maybe I could turn toward him, hold up the cover of the book and say in my crying voice, “I'm sorry, sir. It's just a really good book!” But I didn't say anything. Instead, I just put my head back against the seat and let the tears run. Do you know what decision I made while I was crying? My decision was that it was okay if he thought I was crazy. I'd rather be crazy than be the kind of person who wouldn't cry when the situation called for it, or who wouldn't let herself feel anything at all.
I've been that girl who has spent so much time trying to make sure people didn't think I was crazy. But now I don't want to be that girl any more—that bored and sad girl. I'd rather be this girl who is able to forgive (原谅), love and act, even if it means being disappointed or being hurt again and again.

A. she is usually a crier
B. she is kind of crazy
C. she was moved by the book

64. According to the passage, we know the writer ____.
A. decided to change herself bravely
B. lived a sad and boring life
C. wouldn't cry in any terrible situation
D. wouldn't let others feel anything at all
D
One day after school,I went to the teacher's office to see my teacher, but nobody was there. As I was about to leave,I noticed a piece of paper on the floor. I picked it up and saw the words “FINAL?TERM EXAMINATION” at the top. I put the paper into my schoolbag secretly and ran out of the room.
After I came back home,I took out the paper quickly. It was the exam paper of my worst subject,History. I felt excited. My heart beat fast. I took out my History book and started working on the answer. I had never answered any questions so seriously.
On the day of the History exam,I went into the exam hall confidently. When the paper was sent to me,I dreamt of getting the highest mark in the whole grade and could not help smiling. “My History teacher always encouraged me to work hard and get better grades, but I let him down time and time again. This time I will give him a big surprise,”I thought.
When the teacher said we could start,I turned the paper over. To my surprise, all the questions were different. Later I felt nervous. In the end,I almost left the paper undone. After the exam,I ran to the toilet, took out the paper and carefully read it from the top. Oh! It was last year's exam paper. I read all the questions but I didn't read the date.
This is a lesson in which I know I have to put my feet on the ground. I regretted doing such a silly thing. After that,I told my teacher the truth and I promised to be honest. From then on,I worked harder than ever before.

Are you afraid of public speaking? Don't worry, because you are not alone. Other people also have the same fear. But there are several ways to get over your fear of public speaking.
Let's face it: the biggest problem with public speaking is not the audience(观众),but yourself. You are nervous. If so, that means the audience are not expecting you to fail—it means you are expecting yourself to fail. To get over your fear of public speaking, the first step is understanding that you are your own worst enemy.
We are all in this together: you and the audience are a team. Everyone is looking at you because they are waiting to learn something from you. You should want and like to teach them. The best way to do that is to be prepared.
The worst thing that could happen: you may never get over your fear of public speaking, but that does not mean you can't do well in front of a group. People who are afraid of public speaking often have a fear of making a mistake. But you can solace in knowing that if you make a mistake, 99% of the audience will not realize it, and your life will still go on after the speech is over!
69. The biggest problem is____when you have to speak in public.
A. your audience B. yourself
C. your friends D. your enemy
70. The underlined word “solace” means “____” in Chinese.
A. 安慰 B. 骄傲
C. 满意 D. 努力
71. In order to get over your fear of public speaking, you should____.
A. know who the worst enemy is
B. learn how to work as a team
C. prepare for your success
D. ask your teachers for help
72. What would be the best title for this passage?
A. How to Be a Good Listener
B. How to Be a Great Speaker
C. How to Get a Larger Audience
D. How to Get Over the Fear of Public Speaking

How to learn together as a team?
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today my topic is “How to learn together as a team”.
Teamwork is always very important. It offers us chances to learn how to get along well with others and to share our experiences with others. We can learn from each other and help each other. But how can we learn together as a team?
In my opinion, we should be friendly to each other. When we have problems, we should offer help to others. Maybe we don't know how to do it, but we can discuss together and find a solution at last. As a famous saying goes, “Two heads are always better than one. ” Meanwhile working together with others helps us grow up. Many hands make light work. We need teamwork in our daily life.
That's all for my speech. Thank you!
