5.The Micro-skills Training in writing
Para.1: When the woman read the card, she began to cry. She cried over her husband and her son. She felt really depressed these days. But now she got the card and she felt really moved and was more than rateful to me for my kind behavior. As this was the first time that I had helped a stranger like this, I didn't know how to respond. So I asked her if I could give her a hug.
Para. 2: After we embraced, I walked back to my car and words on the card crowded into my mind again. “You matter.” I said the sentence to myslef, and thought of the feelings when I received the card. That also reminded me of what happended just now, which not only made the old woman happier, but also fully filled my heart. So I decided to pass the behavior on to make more people happy.
I. 词的积累:cry, weep, sob, wail, whimper
Cry: [v.& n.]to produce tears from your eyes because you are unhappy or hurt
Weep:(formal or literary)to cry, usually because you are sad
Sob:[v. & n.]to cry noisily, taking sudden, sharp breaths
Wail:[v. & n.]to make a long loud high cry because you are sad or in pain
Whimper:[v. & n.]to make low, weak crying noises; to speak in this way

Possible version 1
When the woman read the card, she began to cry. She dumped out all those difficulties, sobbing about the husband who was out of job and the son who was as fickle as fortune. As a matter of fact, she couldn’t restrained herself at all. After venting her emotions, she held my hands tightly and thanked me out of turn. She explained that without my card, she wouldn’t have seen herself, not even had the hope for future. I was at a stand and didn’t know what reaction I might give since I’ve never come across this before. All I could think about was: “Would it be OK to give you a hug?”
Possible version 1
After we embraced, I walked back to my car and words on the card crowded into my mind again. “You matter.” Saying the sentence to myself, I feel a warm glow spreading inside of me. It reminded me of my colleague’s encouragement and told me I was not alone. That happened again upon the strange woman through the experience, which also gave me far more happiness and fulfillment. Since then I’ve decided to prepare more cards, as happiness is one thing that really deserves to be passed on from one to another.

Thank you!
