The Micro-skills Training in writing
Para.2: Her word, kindly expressed, still hurt, especially when I saw my part go to another girl.
1. 动词
pat: to touch sb./sth. gently several times with your hand flat, especially as a sign of
affection)
stroke: 1) to move your hand gently and slowly over a surface, sb’s hair, etc;
2) to move something somewhere with a gentle movement

2. 短语
pat sb. on the shoulder;
hold / hugged sb. in one’s arms;
throw one’s arms around sb tightly without hesitation
look sb. gently in the eye
cast comforting glance at sb
The Micro-skills Training in writing
“Yes, every flower gives pleasure in its own way, doesn’t it?” She asked thoughtfully.
“Not everyone can be a princess, but there is no shame in that.” She listened and smiled reassuringly.

Possible version 1
Para. 1
“But you will be a beautiful narrator,” she said, encouraging and comforting me as always as she does. My beloved mom, wearing a shining smile on her scarlet face, added. “The narrator’s part is important, too.” Thanks to her encouragement, which calmed me down gradually, and I began to accept narrator part is of vital significance. Time went so fast that it reached to the performance day. At first I was still nervous, but it was at that very moment that I find a dandelion in my pocket. I knew my mom passed the flower to me, which means to be in company with me.

Possible version 1
Para. 2
After the play, I took home the flower. Mom carefully gazed at the dandelion, gently pressed it into the dictionary and grinned happily as she did. “We were perhaps the only people who would press such a sorry-looking weed.” Though decades pass, I constantly recall our precious lunchtimes being together, clinging to each other, bathed in the soft midday light. For this, I am forever grateful, because smiles on mother’s face and her kind act foster a man like me now! And all those inspiring words like “Cease to struggle and you cease to live.” has been echoing in my mind as fresh as a daisy.

在安慰女儿的话语中,文章用了“Cease to struggle and you cease to live.”,体现出母亲对女儿的鼓励与期望。

Possible version 1
Para. 1
“But you will be a beautiful narrator,” she said, reminding me of how much I loved to read stories aloud to her. “The narrator’s part is every bit as important as the part of a princess.” Her constant encouragement filled me with pride but before the night of the performance, I suddenly felt nervous backstage. My teacher came over to me. “Your mother asked me to give this to you,” she said, handing me a dandelion. Looking at it, I knew my mother was out there.

Possible version 2
Para. 2
After the play, I took home the flower and my mother pressed it between two sheets of paper in a dictionary, laughing as she did it that, “we were perhaps the only people who would press such a sorry-looking weed.” After all these years, I often look back on our lunchtimes together, bathed in the soft midday light. For this, I am forever grateful, because smiles on mother’s face and her kind act foster a man like me now!
