Interpretation of the text文本解读(How)
Interpretation of the title 标题解读 (G-N策略)
1. 这位年老的搬运工因为身体原因而无法承担得起这次搬运任务而叫他的工友帮他完成最后一次搬运,表现出了老人的强烈的责任心;

Possible version 1
Para.1
The angry wife asked him, “Where is that old thief? This is our stuff.” She was about to add more contemptuous comments on the old porter when she suddenly noticed that the man was glaring at her resentfully. “Madam, please calm down. Jack is not a thief! ” retorted the porter, “He is actually terribly sick and isn’t able to earn enough to even have a single meal of the day. Just now, on the way to deliver your stuff, he was too weak to go any further in this heat of the noon. Despite falling down, he never forgot his promise and handed me $15, keeping telling me to deliver it as fast as possible”

Possible version 1
Para.2
Upon hearing this, the husband had tears in his eyes and turned to his wife. “He was hungry, he was poor, but he was truly an honest man,” the husband admitted with trembling voice. At that, the wife was struck dead with shame, heart beating painfully fast and banging against her ribs. How could she be angry with such a kind and responsible man? Like a child who made a mistake, she had no courage to look into her husband’s eyes. Through all these unexpected things, it eventually dawned on her that honesty has no class and she should respect everyone regardless of their financial and social status.
Possible version 1
Possible version 2
Para.1
The angry wife asked him, “Where is that old thief? This is our stuff.” Baffled, the porter responded at once, “ You mean Jack? He is not a thief ! He is the best guy I’ve ever known.” However, the wife sneered, “ You must be his accomplice, or our stuff couldn’t have ended in your cart.” The porter, his face flushing with irritation, retorted, “We are not thieves. We earn our living in an honest way! Actually Jack had a car accident after he set off with your shopping. Though badly injured, he anxiously called me up and handed me $15 to help him deliver it for you.”

Possible version 2
Para.2
Upon hearing this, the husband had tears in his eyes and turned to his wife. “ Honey, we did misunderstand such an honest man. We owe him a sincere apology,” regretted the husband, seeking for his wife’s advice. But then came a dead silence for a while. The wife stood there embarrassed, the blood rushing to her face. Never did she realize such a poor man should be so honest and responsible. With quivering voice, the wife politely apologized and then decided to visit Jack at once. Gazing after the rich couple until they vanished from his sight, the porter smiled and continued his delivering in the sun. Amazingly, he didn’t feel unbearably hot any longer.

Possible version 2
