The text of lesson 22, a warm story between a girl and her grandma.

4. Teaching procedures
Step 1. Warm up
1. Teacher: Hello everyone. We all know that internet is more and more popular now. Internet connects us and helps us in many ways. What things can we do on the internet?
2. Guide students to answer: Listen to music, Read e-books, Chat online and so on.
3. Point out the object of the lesson--Travel on the Internet.
Step 2. Lead- in
1. Inspire students to answer the following questions:
Does your grandma live with you?
What's your grandma's dream?
What can you do to help her realize it?
2. Teacher: Now let's learn a story between Jane and her grandma.
Step 3. Pre- reading (words learning)
1. Teach students to read the new words.
2. Encourage students to read the new words loudly together.
3. Make sentences with the new words:
I received an e- mail yesterday.
From the e- mail, I know Mr. Zhang had cancer.
I send my blessings to him.
There are many great pyramids in Egypt.
Encourage students to say the sentences by themselves. If necessary, teacher helps them. At last get students to say the sentences together.
Step 4. While- reading.
1. Listen to the first two paragraphs, then answer the questions. ( Listening skills)
What made Jane so sad?
What was her grandma's dream?
Ask students to answer the questions, and then explain the language points: receive & accept,
have a dream of, then finish the related exercises.
2. Read the rest paragraphs, at the same time answer the following questions: ( reading skills)
How did Jane help her grandma realize her dream?
What did Jane find on her blog?
What did grandma say when Jane showed her the pictures?
Giving students enough time to read the test, teacher inspects the classroom and gives students some help, if necessary.
Explain the language points: follow, come true & realize.
Then finish the related exercises.
3. Retell the story. ( Help students understand the text better and review the language points again)
Ask students to retell the story with the help of PPT.
4. Do you know these interesting places? ( Arouse students interest and guide out the following tasks. )
Step 5. Post- reading: Group work ( Oral practice, Capacity improving )
1. Inspire students to say some interesting places in Handan or in their hometown.
2. Explain the requirements for the Group Work.
3. Show the sentence patterns on PPT, to help students practice their oral English better.

4. Give students enough time to discuss and practice in groups. Then encouraged them to express themselves. If necessary teacher can help them. At last read the model together.
Step 6. Emotional Sublimation. ( Deepen the study of this lesson)
1. Lead students to sing a song about grandma and grandpa.
2. Read a little poem about grandma to arouse students’ motion.
Step 7. Homework.
1. Retell the story again.
2. Write down what you would say to Jane’s grandma.
