Unit 9 The Great Cities of the World 单元教学设计
学情分析：
本单元是六年级的课程。六年级英语在小学英语教学中起着承上启下的作用，既是五年级的衍生又是初中一年级的铺垫。他们通过小学五年的英语语言的学习和熏陶，有了一定程度的语言积累，能够并且也乐于围绕主题进行学习和交流。在设计教学任务和活动时，可以增加一定的层次和难度，最大程度地激发孩子们的知识储备和提供语言输出的机会。但同时考虑到学生对于本单元目标句型How long does it take to get to ... from... by ....? It takes about....有一定的难度，在设计本单元活动时需要由简到繁，由易到难，逐步进行。这样才能达到真正的掌握和运用新知的教学目标。
教材分析、
本单元的内容是六年级上册的Module 3 Unit 9 Great Cities of the World. 本单元所在模块的主题是Out and about ，在学习本单元之前，学生学习了一些关于表达将来打算的知识，如Shall I ,,,? 和参观博物馆的知识，也初步了解了一些关于地理知识和方位的词汇。在此基础上我们将单元内容进行了整体设计。首先从深圳出发，带着学生去上海、北京、三亚、和拉萨去“旅游“，利用学生对这些城市的已有的旧知和生活中的订票的真实生活情景，全方位了解他们的方位、来往两地所需的时间、交通工具等，第一课时是学习和讨论The Great Cities in China..接下来由首都北京慢慢地过渡到英国的伦敦和日本的首都东京，了解学习这三大国际大都市的一些重要的旅游支援和饮食习惯等。实现了对主题的学习。在此基础上拓展了世界主要国家和国旗及首都，重点介绍了一带一路的国家的首都，如开罗，莫斯科，曼谷等。让学生在学习语言知识的同时也了解咱们中国的时事国情。最后通过制作城市名片来介绍他们心仪的城市，从而达到全面提升英语综合能力的目的。
单元设计依据和整体设计思路
在本单元Great cities of the world 的主题下，设定了三个递进式的话题Great cities of China, Great cities of the World, Make a plan to visit the great cities. 以教材内容为语言基础，以主题内容为语用基础，结合学生生活实际，体现循序渐进的学习规律和生活化课堂的教学理念。通过文本再构将整个情景串起来，使我们的教学更生动、有趣、完整，既让学生复习了旧有知识，又将教学活动与实际生活相结合，从而实现既掌握知识，又提升了语言运用能力的目标。

在教室的引导下，通过小组合作的方式，以谈论一些国际大都市的地理位置、方位和交通为主线，重点拓展介绍了埃及开罗、法国首都巴黎及其标志性建筑，运用本单元核心词汇和句型展开对话教学，推动对语言的感知和理解。

让学生在情景中充分运用语言知识，培养学生运用语言的能力，以达到学以致用的目的；
利用图片、游戏、视频、机票、火车票等来创设情境，吸引学生的注意，提高课堂学习效率；

了解世界上一些国家的首都，知道一些国际大都市的地理位置和它们的标志性建筑；、由往来两地所需的时间体会到科技的发展，交通的便利和人民生活的改善；
培养学生的情商和灵感；
了解各城市的风土人情，拓宽视野。
具体教学设计
第一课时

教学内容：

2.句型：How long does it take to get to ... from ... by ...?
教学要求：
能用重点句型询问来往两地所需的时间，能听懂并能作答。
能介绍国内一些大都市的地理位置及标志性景点。
能了解深圳到上海、北京、拉萨和上海的距离，并对far有比较具体的认识。
能清楚知道四个方位词并能正确表达城市的方位。
教学重难点：
1. 能运用重点句型询问并回答关于两地之间来往所需时间。
2. 能运用已有知识和新知识完整地描述他人的体貌特征，能力等。
教学过程：

1.自然过渡，说到深圳距北京的距离。让学生猜测距离，从而对于far一词有具体的认识。进而熟悉课文句型Are the two cities far away from each other? 2. 介绍北京及其标志性景点。 3.学习重点句型。How long does it take to get to Beijing from Shenzhen by plane? 4.引导学生在网络查询相关出行信息，并回答。 5.用同样方式引导学习句型How long does it take to travel by train? 出示地图，显示深圳到北京，让学生预估距离。 T: How far is it from Shenzhen? Are the two cities far away from each other? 出示北京的图片，让学生说一说北京。How much do you know about Beijing? Where’s is? What kind of city is it? What can we do there? 3.教师引导学生朗读问句，注意长句的停顿。How long does it take to get to Beijing from Shenzhen by plane? 4.引导学生在网站输入相关信息，深圳，北京和日期，可以获取相关航班信息，了解到航程时间。 5.How about travelling by train?让学生猜测，然后展示句型，解释to travel 的意思就是to get to Beijing from Shenzhen 1. 学生猜测距离。Maybe it’s ...km. 并了解两个城市之间距离是否远。Yes, it’s far away from each other. 2.在老师的引导下，能说出：Beijing is in the north of China.
