too many意为“太多”,其后接可数名词的复数形式

much too“太”,后接形容词或副词

4. lie v.现在分词是 lying

1.区分be used to 与used to
be used to 意为“习惯于”,其中的to是介词,后接名词,代词或动词的ing形式。
The girl is used to looking after herself.这个女孩习惯了自己照顾自己。
used to do 意为“过去经常做某事”,这里的to是动词不定式,后接动词原形。
He used to live in big cities, but now he is used to living in the countryside.
他过去住在大城市,但现在他习惯了住在乡下。
正确使用run out
run out意为“用尽;耗尽, 后面不能接宾语,其主语通常为事物, 如时间、食物、金钱等。
My money has run out.我的钱已经用光了。
run out of 后面可以接宾语, 其主语通常是人。
We ran out of all the money last week. 我们上周花光了所以的钱。
importance 名词,意为“重要性”, the importance of .. “...的重要性”。
important形容词,意为“重要的”,It’s important for sb to do sth.对某人来说做某事是重要的。
We all know the importance of keeping healthy.我们都知道保持健康的重要性。
It’s important for us to keep healthy. 对我们来说保持健康很重要。
death名词, 意为“死;死亡”。
His death makes people around very sad. 他的离世让周围的人很悲伤。
die动词, 意为“死”; His mother died two years ago. 他的妈妈两年前去世了。
dead形容词, 意为“死的”; He was dead because of illness. 他因病去世了。
dying形容词, 意为“将死的”。The old man is dying. 这个老人生命垂危。

One Sunday,Cody decided to go sailing in his boat with his friend Dane, but Dane happened to be away. Dane's brother Brett wanted to go instead though he did not know anything about sailing. Cody agreed and they set out to the sea.

阿伦·罗尔斯顿和他的回忆录《生死两难》
阿伦·罗尔斯顿( Aron Ralston,1975年生),也译作阿伦·罗斯顿,是一位美国登山家与演讲者。毕业于卡内基梅隆大学机械工程系,曾服务于英特尔公司。2002年他辞去 工作,立志登遍科罗拉多州的高山。一年后,他在犹他州攀登大峡谷时发生意外,其右手前臂被巨石压住而动弹不得,不得已只好用一把小刀断臂求生。
伤愈之后,阿伦决定将他这次非同寻常的经历用文字记录下来,着手构思回忆录的写作,取名《生死两难》( Between a Rock and a Hard Place)。该书于2004年正式出版,详尽描绘了阿伦断臂求生的真实经历,启迪读者思索人生中应当如何面对困难,揭示逆境中所需的勇气与果敢。

本单元的写作话题是健康问题意外事故以及处理建议。目的在于教育学生注意饮食健康,关心他人,学会处理意外事故。常见的写作话题为有关健康的建议等。
技巧点拨。一仔细审题,确定人称,时态和内容要点,写出面临的健康问题意外事故,一般以第二人称为主。注意运用一般现在时态。二是明晰结构,三段式。问题---建议---总结,然后给出相应的建议处理办法。三是注意含有情态动should的句型,如You should… You shouldn’t…It’s important/necessary for you to do sth结构不能单一。四是恰当使用连词,first,second, third, finally, what’s more,in a word等等。
