“An
apple
a
day
keeps
the
doctor
away.”Similarly,
if
we
drink
a
little
more
water
every
day,
we
may
find
that
we
need
to
go
to
the
doctor
a
lot
less
often.
A
healthy
diet
is
made
up
of
water
and
a
great
many
different
kinds
of
foods.
We
know
that
healthy
foods
like
fruits,
vegetables
and
fish,
are
important
as
they
provide
us
with
energy
and
fiber,
without
giving
us
too
much
fat
and
sugar.
But
why
is
water
important?
The
human
body
needs
water
to
survive.
Water
is
important
as
it
carries
poisons
and
waste
out
of
our
bodies.
So,
doctors
advise
us
to
drink
plenty
of
water,
much
more
than
the
small
amount
we
need
to
stay
alive.
Some
doctors
believe
that
water
is
important
for
our
health
in
all
kinds
of
ways.
They
believe
that
a
great
many
illnesses
and
health
problems
start
as
a
result
of
dehydration(脱水)
---
a
lack
of
water
in
the
body.
Most
people
are
dehydrated
at
least
some
of
time,
although
they
probably
don't
know
it.
It
is
surprising
to
learn
that
if
we
feel
thirsty,
we
are
already
in
the
first
stage
of
dehydration.
In
fact,
we
are
advised
to
drink
water
before
we
feel
thirsty.
These
doctors
think
that
health
problems
such
as
headaches,
high
blood
pressure
and
asthma(哮喘)could
be
helped
if
people
drink
more
water.
They
also
believe
that
drinking
more
water
can
help
people
who
are
overweight.
Water
contains
no
calories
so
it
will
not
make
us
put
on
weight.
If
we
drink
water,
we
will
probably
drink
less
sugary
soft
drinks
such
as
Coca-cola.
Doctors
also
believe
that
drinking
more
water
may
stop
people
from
overeating.
They
say
that
many
people
think
that
they
are
hungry
when
they
are,
in
fact,
thirsty.
Doctors
suggest,
therefore,
that
we
eat
less
food
and
drink
more
water.
There
are
still
many
health
problems
that
cannot
be
solved
by
drinking
water,
so
we
should
not
stop
seeing
the
doctor
completely.
However,
if
we
make
a
decision
to
drink
water
every
day,
we
may
find
that
we
need
to
go
to
the
doctor
a
lot
less
often.

Teenagers
who

the

phone
a
lot,
and
hold
their
phones
up
to
their
right
ears,
score
worse
on
one
type
of
memory
test.
That’s
the
finding
of
a
new
study.
That
memory
impairment
might
be
one
side
effect
of
the
radiation(放射线)
that
phones
use
to
keep
us
connected
while
we’re
on
the
go.
Nearly
700
Swiss
teens
took
part
in
a
test
of
figural
memory.
This
type
helps
us
remember
abstract(抽象的)
symbols
and
shapes,
explains
Milena
Foerster.
The
teens
took
memory
tests
twice,
one
year
apart.
Each
time,
they
had
one
minute
to
remember
13
pairs
of
abstract
shapes.
Then
they
were
shown
one
item
from
each
pair
and
asked
to
match
it
with
one
of
the
five
choices.
The
study
volunteers
also
took
a
test
of
verbal
memory.
That’s
the
ability
to
remember
words.
The
two
memory
tests
are
part
of
an
intelligence
test.
The
researchers
also
surveyed
the
teens
on
how
they
use
cell
phones.
And
they
got
call
records
from
phone
companies.
The
researchers
used
those
records
to
figure
out
how
long
the
teens
were
using
their
phones.
This
allowed
the
researchers
to
work
out
how
big
radiation
exposure
each
person
could
have
got
while
talking.
A
phone
user's
exposure
to
the
radiation
can
differ
widely.
Some
teens
talk
on
their
phones
more
than
others.
People
also
hold
their
phones
differently.
If
the
phone
is
close
to
the
ear,
more
radiation
may
enter
the
body,
Foerster
notes.
Even
the
type
of
network
signal
that
a
phone
uses
can
matter.
Much
of
Switzerland
was
using
an
older
“second-generation”
type
of
cell
phone
networks,
the
study
reports.
Many
phone
carriers(通讯公司)
have
moved
away
from
such
networks.
And
more
companies
plan
to
update
their
networks
within
the
next
few
years.
The
teens’
scores
in
the
figural
memory
tests
were
roughly
the
same
from
one
year
to
the
next.
But
those
who
normally
held
their
phones
near
the
right
ears,
and
who
were
also
exposed
to
higher
levels
of
radiation,
scored
a
little
bit
worse
after
a
year.
No
group
of
teens
showed
big
changes
on
the
verbal
memory
test.
Why
might
one
type
of
memory
be
linked
to
cell
phone
use,
but
not
another?
Foerster
thinks
it
could
have
to
do
with
where
different
memory
centers
sit
in
the
brain.
The
site
that
deals
with
the
ability
to
remember
shapes
is
near
the
right
ear.

Lao-tzu
and
Confucius
were
China's
most
famous
philosophers.
31
"Those

those
who
say
do
not
know,
"said
Lao-tzu.
Confucius
said
that
the
best
people
say
the
least,
but
do
the
most.
32
It
comes
from
the
story
that
he
was
born
with
white
hair,
already
old
and
wise.
Very
little
is
known
about
Lao-tzu's
life.
His
writings
are
titled
the
"Tao
Te
Ching".
According
to
Taoism,
the
entire
universe
flows
with
a
mysterious
force
called
the
Tao,
which
means
"The
way".
33
When
people
forget
this,
opinions
of
good
and
evil
or
true
and
false
happen.
Taoists
try
to
remember
their
oneness.
However,
this
is
easier
said
than
done,
Lao-tzu
said
Over
time,
Taoism
changed
a
bit.
Taoism
became
more
popular
in
AD
440
when
it
became
China’s
state
religion.
Many
people
practice
Taoism
today.
Born
in
551
B,
Confucius
wandered
throughout
China
as
a
government
employee
and
a
political
adviser
to
the
ruling
Chou
family.
34
After
Confucius
died
in
479
BC,
his
students
wrote
down
his
teachings
and
called
them
"Lun
Yu",
or
the
Analects.
Many
of
his
clever
sayings
are
still
followed
today.
"It
is
as
hard
to
be
poor
without
complaining
as
to
be
rich
without
becoming
arrogant(傲慢)."
Confucianism
says
it
is
important
to
learn
to
be
human.
People
should
act
with
goodness
towards
each
other
to
create
order
and
unity.
Confucianism
guided
thinking
in
China
until
about
hundred
years
ago.
Taoism
and
Confucianism
have
differences
and
similarities.
Confucianism
tells
people
how
to
act
towards
each
other.
Taoism
tells
people
how
to
find
meaning
in
life.
They
both
share
ideas
about
man,
society,
and
the
universe.
Both
Taoism
and
Confucianism
have
served
as
guides.
35
A.
Good
thinking
lasts
a
long
time
B.
Their
sayings
are
still
used
today.
C.
Lao-tzu
may
not
even
have
existed
D.
He
was
also
a
musician,
thinker,
and
teacher.
E.
The
name
Lao-tzu
means
"Old
Master"
or
"Old
Boy".
F.
They
have
led
China
through
the
peaks
and
valleys
of
its
long
history
G.
Taoists
believe
that
everything
might
seem
separate,
but
is
actually
one.

I
replied.
"Well,"
he
asked,
"is
$3.5

That

for

读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
“Will
you
come
with
us,
Susan?”
cried
several
girls
to
a
schoolmate.
“We
are
going
to
the
woods;
do
come,
too.”
“I
should
like
to
go
with
you
very
much,”
replied
Susan,
with
a
sigh,
“but
I
can’t
finish
the
task
grandmother
set
me
to
do.”
“How
tiresome
it
must
be
to
stay
at
home
to
work
on
a
holiday!”
said
Rose,
one
of
the
girls,
shaking
her
head.
“Susan’s
grandmother
is
too
strict.”
Susan
heard
the
remark(谈论),
and,
as
she
bent
her
head,
she
wiped
away
a
tear,
and
thought
of
the
pleasant
afternoon
the
girls
would
spend
gathering
wild
flowers
in
the
woods.
Soon
she
said
to
herself,
“What
harm
can
there
be
in
moving
the
mark
grandmother
put
in
the
stocking?
The
woods
must
be
very
beautiful
today,
and
how
I
should
like
to
be
in
them!”
“Grandmother,”
said
she,
a
few
minutes
afterwards,
“I’m
ready
now.”
“What,
so
soon,
Susan?”
Her
grandmother
took
the
work,
and
looked
at
it
very
closely.
“True,
Susan,”
said
she,
laying
great
stress
on(强调)
each
word,
“true,
I
count
twenty
turns
from
the
mark;
and,
as
you
have
never
cheated
me,
you
may
go
and
amuse
yourself
as
you
like
the
rest
of
the
day.”
Susan’s
cheeks
were
red,
and
she
did
not
say
“Thank
you.”
As
she
left
the
cottage,
she
walked
slowly
away,
not
singing
as
usual.
“Why,
here
is
Susan!”
the
girls
cried,
when
she
joined
their
company;
“but
what
is
the
matter?
Why
have
you
left
your
dear,
old
grandmother?”
they
asked.
“There
is
nothing
the
matter.”
As
Susan
repeated
these
words,
she
felt
that
she
was
trying
to
cheat
herself.
She
had
acted
a
lie.
At
the
same
time
she
remembered
her
grandmother’s
words,
“You
have
never
cheated
me.”
“Yes,
I
have
cheated
her,”
said
she
to
herself.
“If
she
knew
all,
she
would
never
trust
me
again.”

Dear
Alex,
It's
really
tough
to
say
"goodbye".
Words
fail
to
convey
my
endless
appreciation
to
you
in
this
letter,
as
you've

so
much
for
me.
Undoubtedly,
it
was
your
support
and
encouragement
that
lit
me
up
when
I
was
confronted
with
difficulties
in
English
learning;
it
was
your
devotion
and
effort
that
motivated
me
to
work
harder.
Whenever
you
had
free
time,
you
would
help
me
practice
my
oral
English
by
correcting
my

and

Had
it
not
been
for
your
selfless

Thanks

for
generous

Wish

第二节
满分25分
Paragraph1:
When
the
little
party
had
reached
an
open
space
in
the
woods,
her
companions
ran
about
enjoying
themselves,
but
Susan
sat
on
the
grass,
wishing
she
were
at
home
admitting
her
fault.
After
a
while
Rose
cried
out,
“Let
us
make
a
crown
of
flowers,
and
put
it
on
the
head
of
the
best
girl
here.”
Soon
the
crown
was
finished.
All
the
girls
agreed
Susan
was
the
best
girl
both
in
school
and
at
home,
so
they
decided
she
was
to
wear
it.
Paragraph2:
“Now,
Susan,”
said
Rose,
“Put
on
the
crown
of
flowers,
for
you
are
to
be
our
queen.”
As
these
words
were
spoken,
the
crown
was
placed
on
her
head.
In
a
moment
she
took
it
off,
and
threw
it
on
the
ground,
saying,
“No
crown
for
me;
I
do
not
deserve
it.”
The
girls
looked
at
her
with
surprise.
“I
have
cheated
my
grandmother,”
said
she,
while
tears
flowed
down
her
cheeks.
Quickly
Susan
left
the
other
girls,
went
back
home
and
apologized
to
her
grandmother.
“Susan,”
said
her
grandmother,
“I
am
so
happy
you
have
realized
your
fault,
and
you
are
still
my
own
little
girl!”
