1、教材分析
必修四第一单元,这一单元的话题是Women of achievement,卓 有成就的女性。内容上主要是让学生了解Jane Goodall的事迹。文章结构比较清晰,每一段都有明显的主题句,可以训练学生的略读细读能力。
2、教学目标
让学生通过阅读,理解Jane Goodall 观察黑猩猩的方法,以及在黑猩猩研究和保护方面取得的成就实战举例
学习并掌握本课的词汇和语法结构。
进一步训练学生略读(scanning)、细读(close reading)、归纳内容(summarizing)等阅读技巧,把握篇章中心内容,获取关键信息,并且能针对阅读内容表达自己的观点。
引导学生认识Jane Goodall 不畏艰险的精神,了解她身上所具有的品质。
3、重难点
重点是在整体上把握文章内容,通过训练阅读技巧来提高阅读能力。
难点是在开放性讨论中,必须深刻理解文章内容,并阐述自己对这些观点的看法。
4、学情分析
学生对于找主题句,判断文章大意能力不是很强,概括大意不一定准确,所以在处理这一环节的时候,老师要加以指导。
文章有些句子过于复杂 ,可能有一定的生词障碍,需要老师着重讲解

看文章的标题猜测本文大意. 试着让学生猜测“student”的含义.
Task 1 Skimming(略读)

skimming 是阅读中的重要技巧,通过这一活动可以培养学生阅读能力,在有限的时间内借助标题和图片以及大致的浏览文章迅速了解文章的大意。
加上图片,引起学生阅读文章的兴趣

在这一环节中,四个问题的设定,是比较有选择性,文章虽然长,有难理解的句子,但问题答案的范围比较好锁定,这样的题更适合学生利用scanning 这种技巧。有效的训练学生的查读的能力,
通过上边两个活动skimming 和scanning ,学生对所讲文章基本上有一个了解,这时候下一个任务则是给学生一定的时间,让学生在对文章有了一定的了解基础上,进行阅读。概括文章大意。

可以让学生重新来诠释一下student的含义,学生自然会了解此处应当是学者的含义。
通过学生所给出的词,学生可以对人物加深理解。也就理解了简做这一切的缘由。进一步加深学生在情感上对主人公的认识。

Activity: (15分钟)
1.Discussion
老师可以先让学生根据文章内容来提出一些关于简·古道儿 的问题,问题由浅入深,以及课后练习题第四题的问题,学生可以进行小组讨论。
 2.Interview : Suppose Jane came to China, you are a reporter ,ask her some questions that you are interested to know more about her.

通过这几个问题,进一步的理解主人公工作的艰辛以及重要性,从情感上对学生进行教育。学生需要根据文中内容,但又需要自己组织语言来表达观点。
