Kids
love
to
watch
TV.
For
example,
what
they
see
on
the
television
is
one
of
their
best
forms
of
entertainment.
However,
not
all
programs
are
suited
for
kids.
“Disney”
always
has
been
a
choice
for
parents
and
teachers
when
looking
at
providing
entertainment
to
young
children.
The
reason
for
this
is
Disney,
such
as
Alice
in
Wonderland,
has
produced
its
mark
in
making
films
that
are
meant
to
instill
positive
values
among
children.
All
Disney
films
are
produced
to
make
its
viewers
envision(想象)
items
that
are
beyond
the
typical.
One
great
film
that
would
foster
kids'
imagination
is
Aladdin
that
is
about
an
adolescent
lad
who
falls
in
love
with
a
princess
named
Jasmine.
But
they
are
able
to
by
no
means
be
married
as
the
princess
should
only
marry
a
prince.
But
every
thing
becomes
nice
whenever
a
genie
arrives
into
the
image
and
grants
Aladdin's
wishes.
It's
an
excellent
film
that
tends
to
make
children
envision
as
it
functions
entertaining
characters
such
as
a
flying
carpet.
For
kids,
dreaming
is
inborn.
But
because
they
develop
older,
they
tend
to
forget
how
they
can
hold
on
to
their
dreams.
To
keep
them
having
a
dream
and
running
after
it,
you
are
able
to
allow
them
to
view
Disney
films
concerning
the
energy
of
dreaming
like
Up.
Released
in
2009,
the
film
tells
a
tale
of
Carl
Fredricksen
who
has
sufficient
courage
to
track
his
dream
despite
adulthood
and
lack
of
sources.
Although
kindness
is
one
thing
inborn,
children
sometimes
don't
develop
it
as
a
consequence
of
so
many
factors
such
as
correct
guidance
from
the
moms
and
dads
and
influence
of
other
children.
To
assist
children
in
creating
this
perspective,
you
can
let
them
view
Disney
films
that
tell
about
genuine
kindness
like
Mary
Poppins
that
is
a
tale
of
a
nanny
who
uses
magic
to
transform
normal
lives
into
something
extraordinary
via
kindness.
1.
Why
does
the
author
advise
kids
to
see
Disney
films?
A.
Because
TV
programs
are
not
suited
for
kids'
entertainment.
B.
Because
Disney
films
can
instill
positive
values
among
children.
C.
Because
Disney
films
entertain
children
more
than
TV
programs.
D.
Because
Disney
films
are
popular
among
their
teachers
and
parents.
2.
How
does
the
film
Up
mainly
benefit
the
kids?
A.
It
fosters
kids'
imagination.
B.
It
helps
kids
to
practice
kindness.
C.
It
inspires
kids
to
follow
their
dreams.
D.
It
gives
kids
enough
courage
and
sources.
3.
Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
of
the
film
Mary
Poppins?
A.
The
nanny
is
a
kind
person
to
others.
B.
Kids
would
like
to
see
it
very
much.
C.
It
is
popular
with
most
of
the
parents.
D.
The
parents
offer
a
lot
of
good
factors.
4.
Which
of
the
Disney
films
probably
helps
kids
to
develop
their
imagination?
A.
Alice
in
Wonderland.
B.
Aladdin.
C.
Up.
D.
Mary
Poppins.
B
Years
ago,
the
American
writer
Kurt
Vonnegut
often
said
there
was
one
story
that
would
always
make
a
million
dollars:
Cinderella.
In
Hollywood
and
in
today's
economy,
it
is
more
like
$70
million
and
that
is
just
a
start.
Cinderella
made
that
amount
in
ticket
sales
when
it
opened
last
weekend.
And
the
merchandising
deals
linked
to
the
film
are
also
hugely
valuable.
But
the
artistic
success
of
the
film
is
open
to
debate.
What
is
clear,
however,
is
the
film's
business
success.
It
is
a
hit
in
the
theaters
but
it
is
also
a
hit
in
retail(零售).
And
Disney
widened
its
usual
market
for
Cinderella
products.
There
are
products
connected
to
the
Disney
film
targeted
not
only
at
little
girls,
but
women,
too.
For
example,
the
famous
shoe
designer
Jimmy
Choo
partnered
with
Disney
to
create
a
version
of
Cinderella's
“glass
slippers”
or
shoes.
You
can
buy
them
for
about
$5,000.
At
that
price,
you
would
not
want
to
lose
one
at
the
ball,
even
if
that
is
the
way
you
get
your
prince.
Several
other
shoemakers
also
accepted
Disney
deals
to
design
versions
of
the
famous
footwear.
The
makeup
company
MAC
quickly
sold
all
its
products
with
official
links
to
Cinderella.
But
lucky
buyers
were
soon
selling
the
products
on
the
online
makertplace
eBay
for
many
times
the
original
price.
HSN
is
a
popular
television
and
online
retailer(零售商)
of
jewelry,
clothing
and
objects
for
the
home.
The
marketer
is
now
an
exclusive
seller
of
Cinderella
products.
So,
is
there
anything
left
for
the
children,
those
people
we
think
of
as
the
traditional
audience
for
the
age?old
fairy
tale?
Yes,
you
can
find
toys
and
other
children's
products
at
the
American
retailer
JC
Penney.
Of
course,
you
can
also
visit
a
Disney
store.
Disney
also
produced
an
animated
version
of
Cinderella.
It
came
out
in
1950
and
is
considered
a
classic.
Which
do
you
think
the
Disney
company
does
better:live
action(实景真人)
or
animated
films?
Post
your
thoughts
in
the
comments
section.

because
________.
A.
it
has

B.

products
C.

good
workout
doesn't
just
make
the
body
stronger.
It
also
produces
a
chemical
that
may
keep
depression
away,
scientists
report.
Their
findings
come
from
a
new
study
of
mice
and
another
of
a
small
group
of
people.
Doctors
have
often
prescribed
exercise
to
help
treat
people
with
depression.
The
new
data
points
to
why
that
can
work.
The
researchers
mapped
out
the
protective
activity
of
one
chemical
that
the
body
makes
during
exercise.
“These
data
may
help
explain
why
exercise
can
heal
a
person
in
different
ways,”
says
Andrew
Miller,
a
psychiatrist
at
Emory
University
in
Atlanta.
“The
study
also
may
point
to
new
ways
to
treat
brain
disorders,”
he
adds.
After
a
good
workout,
muscles
produce
a
chemical
called
PGC?1
alpha.
It
signals
the
body
to
make
more
blood
vessels
and
more
mitochondria(线粒体).
Those
mitochondria
are
important
features
of
cells.
They
change
food
into
the
energy
that
powers
cells.
The
new
study
shows
that
the
increase
of
PGC?1
alpha
has
benefits
that
reach
all
the
way
to
the
brain.
In
one
set
of
tests,
the
scientists
exposed
mice
to
several
things
that
cause
stress.
For
instance,
they
reduced
food
for
the
mice
and
also
exposed
them
to
strobe
lights
and
loud
noises.
After
five
weeks,
the
stressed
mice
showed
signs
of
depression.
They
consumed
less
sweet
water
and
did
not
try
to
swim
when
placed
in
a
tank
of
water.
The
researchers
then
conducted
the
same
tests
on
mice
that
had
been
genetically
altered
to
produce
high
levels
of
PGC?1
alpha.
These
mice
did
not
show
signs
of
depression
after
five
weeks
of
stress.
“Nothing
happened,”
said
Maria
Lindskog,
the
lead
scientist.
“It
appeared,”
she
concluded,
“that
the
brain
was
completely
protected.”
But
her
team
didn't
stop
there.
They
turned
to
a
chemical
called
kynurenine(犬尿氨酸)
that
the
body
produces
during
stress.
When
they
injected
this
chemical
into
their
mice,
the
animals
showed
signs
of
depression—such
as
drinking
less
sweet
water.
But
the
researchers
found
that
PGC?1
alpha
helped
transform
kynurenine
into
a
different
chemical.
That
new
chemical
had
trouble
reaching
the
brain.
So
mice
whose
muscles
had
produced
high
levels
of
PGC?1
alpha
no
longer
became
depressed.
These
animals
seemed
immune
to
the
negative
effects
of
kynurenine.
The
scientists
found
that
PGC?1
alpha
protected
their
brains
from
depression.
The
new
study
shows
that
muscles
can
have
a
strong
influence
on
other
organs.
“Muscle,”
Lindskog
concludes,
“is
like
a
detoxifying(解毒的)
organ.”
Her
team
looked
for
the
same
effects
in
people.
After
volunteers
exercised
for
three
weeks,
their
muscles
produced
PGC?1
alpha
and
other
chemicals
that
helped
lower
kynurenine
levels
in
the
brain.
The
study
may
point
to
better
treatments
for
depression.
“Some
people
may
benefit
strongly
from
more
exercise,”
Miller
says,
“or
from
drugs
that
stop
toxic
compounds
from
getting
to
the
brain.”
36.
What
does
PGC?1
alpha
function
as?
A.
A
sensory
motivator.
B.
A
cell
protector.
C.
An
energy
provider.
D.
A
signal
sender.
37.
Which
statement
may
Maria's
team
agree
with?
A.
Exercise
is
the
best
drug
for
depression.
B.
Mice

genetically
kynurenine?resistant.
C.
PGC?1
alpha
can
be
a
defence
against
depression.
D.

one's
muscles
produce,

lines
from

When
it
comes
to

people
about

suggested
that

aesthetic(审美的)
and
emotional
sides,
and

My
Views
on
Growing
Pains
Dear__newcomers,
On__behalf__of__all__the__experienced__hands,__I__would__like__to__share__my__views__on__growing__pains.
Just
as
the
two
words
stand
for,
growing
pains
are
the
two
sides
of
one
coin.
To
grow,
one
is
doomed
to
suffer;
with
pains,
one
can
grow
more
steadily.
The
point
is,
how
should
we
deal
with
those
pains?
My
suggestion
is
that
we
should
face
the
pains
directly
but
avoid
extreme
behavior.
It's
unwise
to
either
shy
away
from
the
pain
or
exaggerate
your
suffering.
Instead,
a
balanced
attitude
is
a
better
solution.
For
example,
my
biggest
struggle
lies
in
the
conflict
between
the
impulse
to
play
computer
games
and
the
obligation
to
study.
To
solve
the
problem,
I
talked
with
my
parents
and
persuaded
them
to
let
me
play
once
a
week.
The
key
is
that
I
didn't
lose
myself.
Now
learning
for
my
dream
university
has
surpassed
the
desire
for
games,
making
that
pain
a
precious
memory.
Had
I
not
kept
the
conflict
in
control,
I
wouldn't
be
so

第二部分 阅读理解(共8小题;每小题2分,满分16分)
请阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
For
high
school
leavers
starting
out
in
the
working
world,
it
is
very
important
to
learn
particular
skills
and
practice
how
to
behave
in
an
interview
or
how
to
find
an
internship(实习).
In
some
countries,
schools
have
programs
to
help
students
onto
the
path
to
work.
In
the
United
States,
however,
such
programs
are
still
few
and
far
behind.
Research
shows
that
if
high
schools
provide
career?related
courses,
students
are
likely
to
get
higher
earnings
in
later
years.
The
students
are
more
likely
to
stay
in
school,
graduate
and
go
on
to
higher
education.
In
Germany,
students
as
young
as
13
and
14
are
expected
to
do
internships.
German
companies
work
with
schools
to
make
sure
that
young
people
get
the
education
they
need
for
future
employment.
But
in
America,
education
reform
programs
focus
on
how
well
students
do
in
exams
instead
of
bringing
them
into
contact
with
the
working
world.
Professor
Robert
Schwartz
of
Harvard
Education
School
has
criticized
education
reformers
for
trying
to
place
all
graduates
directly
on
the
four?year
college
track.
Schwartz
argued
that
this
approach
leaves
the
country's
most
vulnerable(易受伤的)
kids
with
no
jobs
and
no
skills.
Schwartz
believed
that
the
best
career
programs
encourage
kids
to
go
for
higher
education
while
also
teach
them
valuable
practical
skills
at
high
school.
James
Madison
High
School,
for
example,
encourages
students
to
choose
classes
on
career?based
courses.
The
school
then
helps
them
gain
on?the?job
experience
in
those
fields
while
they're
still
at
high
school.
However,
even
for
teens
whose
schools
encourage
them
to
connect
with
work,
the
job
market
is
daunting.
In
the
USA,
unemployment
rates
for
16?
to
19?year?olds
are
above
20
percent
for
the
third
summer
in
a
row.
“The
risk
is
that
if
teenagers
miss
out
on
the
summer
job
experience,
they
will
become
part
of
this
generation
of
teens
who
had
trouble
in
landing
a
job,”
said
Michael,
a
researcher
in
the
USA.

B.

William
Purkey,
a
well?known
professor
of
education,
said,
“Dance
like
no
one
is
watching,
love
like
you'll
never
be
hurt,
sing
like
no
one
is
listening,
and
live
like
it's
heaven
on
earth.”It
seems
like
the
perfect
life
philosophy—and
one
I've
learned
to
apply
to
running
over
the
year.
But
I
didn't
always
feel
this
way.
In
my
early
days,
when
I
weighed
240
pounds,
I
ran
like
everyone
was
watching—and
judging.
If
I
was
on
a
run
and
saw
a
car
approaching,
I'd
stop
and
pretend
I
was
looking
for
something
I'd
lost.
I
bought
the
high?tech
gear
and
clothes
that
I
thought
would
make
people
believe
I
was
a
runner.
And
I
didn't
have
a
clue
if
the
expensive
shoes
I
was
wearing
were
the
right
kind
for
me—I
just
wanted
to
look
like
I
fit
in
with
this
group.
To
be
honest,
I
felt
a
certain
satisfaction
in
believing
that
someone
was
watching.
I
really
thought
that
other
people
cared
about
my
performance.
The
best
example
of
this
was
a
combined,
two?lap
marathon
in
Florence,
Italy.
As
I
approached
the
finishing
line,
the
crowd
began
to
cheer.
I
was
surprised.
Here
I
was,
thousands
of
miles
from
home,
and
the
Italians
were
shouting
for
“IIPenguino”.
About
20
yards
from
the
finishing
line,
the
truth
set
in
when
the
winner
of
the
full
marathon
went
past
me
as
I
was
finishing
the
half?marathon.
No
one
was
cheering
for
me.
No
one
probably
even
noticed
that
I
was
finishing.
I
couldn't
help
but
smile
at
my
own
illusion
of
self?importance.
That's
when
I
realized
I
had
been
running
for
every
reason
except
the
right
one.
I
ran
to
make
other
people
happy,
and
ran
to
live
up
to
their
expectations.
But
no
one
was
watching—no
one
cared.
So
I
decided
I
was
going
to
run
for
me—just
me—and
gained
new
enjoyment
from
the
sport
I
hadn't
truly
experienced
yet.
I've
learned
to
run
like
no
one
is
watching.
So
if
you
see
me
at
race,
and
I
look
like
a
60?year?old
guy
waddling(蹒跚)
along,
don't
worry.
I'm
fine.
The
miracle
isn't
that
I
finished.
The
miracle
is
that
I
had
the
courage
to
start.

The
guideline

Or,
in
more
serious
cases,
they

第三节
书面表达
One
possible
version:
As
is
shown
in
the
short
passage
above,
campus
violence
among
teenagers
has
become
an
increasingly
serious
problem,
but
fortunately,
the
government
has
realized
it
and
decided
to
take
measures
to
deal
with
it.
There
are
several
factors
accounting
for
the
situation,
among
which
people's
tolerant
attitude
can't
be
neglected.
When
campus
violence
happens,
the
absence
of
severe
punishments
usually
makes
matters
worse,
leading
to
those
bad
guys
being
more
offensive
and
aggressive.
In
addition,
when
faced
with
such
violence,
teen
victims
are
too
afraid
to
report
it
to
parents
or
the
school,
let
alone
call
the
police.
In
a
bid
to
wrestle
with
the

Every
day
we
are
exposed
to
images,
videos,
music
and
news.
In
this
age
of
visual
and
aural
hyper?stimulation(过度刺激),
the
medium
of
radio
is
making
a
great
comeback.
“We're
at
the
beginning
of
a
golden
age
of
audio,”
said
US?based
podcaster
Alex
Blumberg
in
an
article
in
The
Sydney
Morning
Herald.
In
the
last
month
alone,
15
percent
of
US
adults
listened
to
a
radio
podcast(播客).
The
term
“podcast”
was
invented
in
2004,
but
the
trend
only
started
gaining
popularity
in
recent
years.
With
the
sharp
increase
in
consumer
demand
for
smartphones
and
tablets,
podcast
sales
have
jumped.
The
appeal
of
the
podcast
partly
lies
in
its
various
platform
deliveries
and
on?demand
functions.
You
can
listen
during
those
extra
minutes
of
the
day
when
you're
walking
to
the
shops,
waiting
in
a
queue
or
riding
the
subway.
Similar
to
television
shows,
podcasts
are
generally
free
to
download
and
most
offer
new
content
every
week.
Donna
Jackson,
media
graduate
of
the
University
of
Sydney,
listens
to
podcasts
two
or
three
times
a
week,
via
iTunes.
“I
listen
while
I'm
wandering
around
the
house
doing
something
else.
It
makes
completing
a
boring
task
much
more
enjoyable.
And
it's
an
easy
way
of
keeping
in
touch
with
what's
going
on
in
the
rest
of
the
world,”
she
said,
“I
mainly
listen
to
BBC
podcasts,
but
recently
I've
also
been
listening
to
This
American
Life
and
Serial.
They
have
a
special
skill
to
really
draw
you
in.”
Unlike
television
and
music,
this
kind
of
audio
has
the
potential
to
create
a
deep
impression
on
readers.
Blumberg
says
this
owes
to
the
podcast's
ability
to
create
close
relationship
and
emotional
connection.
Hazel
Proust,
an
undergraduate
of
the
University
of
Sydney,
majoring
in
social
work
and
arts,
agrees.
“When
you're
listening,
it
feels
as
if
the
voice
of
the
podcast's
storyteller
is
talking
directly
to
you.
It's
comforting,”
said
Proust.
It
seems
the
age?old
tradition
of
story
telling
is
very
much
alive
and
well.
