传说中的雪人
雪人又被称为大脚野人、夜帝(Yeti)、野人，意思是居住在岩石上的动物，
藏语称为米戈，意为人形怪物。传说中喜马拉雅山区的大雪怪，曾经在尼泊尔喜马拉雅山区中多次被发现踪迹，但至今没有证实它是什么。雪人是存在于世界各地但未被证实存在的高等灵长目动物，其能够直立行走，身高能达到7英尺。比猿类高等，具有一定的智能。其较为正式的学术名称是"直立高等灵长目奇异动物"。古人类学认为野人可能是远古智人进化到现代人之间缺失的一环，故有生物学家将其分类为人科人属但并非智人种，与现代人类有最近的亲缘关系。从公元前326年起，世间就开始流传关于雪人的种种传说。
雪人，最早在《泰晤士报》上被称为Yeti，这个名字是取自居住在喜马拉雅山脉的“夏尔巴人”对雪人的称呼-"夜帝"，通过音译的方式，称之为Yeti。
