B
A
few
months
ago,
Jason
asked
his
parents
to
buy
him
a
computer.
All
his
friends
already
had
one,
so
his
mom
and
dad
agreed.
During
the
first
few
weeks,
Jason
spent
a
lot
of
time
in
front
of
his
computer
because
he
had
to
learn
how
it
worked.
He
was
really
interested
in
learning
all
about
it
and
he
even
started
writing
computer
programs
himself.
?
?One
day
Jason
found
a
website
where
he
could
play
chess
either
against
the
computer
or
against
other
people
from
all
over
the
world.
From
then
on,
Jason
seemed
to
have
just
one
interest
in
life,
his
computer.
Whenever
his
parents
told
him
that
he
was
spending
too
much
time
with
his
computer,
Jason
went
into
denial.
He
did
not
think
that
he
had
a
problem
at
all.
?
?Then
the
unthinkable
happened:
Jason’s
computer
broke
down.
But
his
parents
decided
not
to
buy
him
a
new
one.
Jason
said
that
he
needed
a
computer
for
school,
and
he
promised
that
he’d
spend
less
time
with
it.
But
his
parents
refused
to
give
in.
Finally,
Jason
felt
so
hopeless
that
he
took
the
only
way
out
and
killed
himself.
?
?Robert
Johnson,
a
psychologist(心理学家)on
the
subject,
says,“Computer
addiction(沉溺)is
an
illness
that
can
influence
anyone
of
us.
Nowadays,
increasing
numbers
of
people
are
spending
more
and
more
time
working
with
computers.
While
this
isn’t
a
problem
for
most
users,
some
people,
especially
teenagers,
often
use
the
computer
to
get
away
from
the
real
world.
This
is
especially
true
of
shy
people.
For
them,
meeting
people
online
is
a
way
of
hiding
their
true
selves.
In
cyberspace,
they
can
be
whoever
they
want
to
be
and
create
their
own
virtual(虚拟的)world.
But
what
happens
when
they
can
no
longer
enter
their
virtual
world?”
4.
Why
did
Jason
want
to
buy
a
computer?
A.
To
play
chess.
B.
To
make
friends.
C.
To
avoid
being
an
outsider.
D.
To
write
computer
programs.
5.
By
saying
“Jason
went
into
denial”,
the
author
means
_________.
A.
Jason
would
not
listen
B.
Jason
enjoyed
himself
C.
Jason
would
turn
it
off
D.
Jason
changed
his
mind
6.
What
was
Jason’s
relationship
with
his
parents
like
when
his
computer
broke
down?
A.
Fine.
?
B.
So-so.
C.
Terrible.
D.
Unknown.
7.
In
Robert
Johnson’s
opinion,
_________.
A.
it
is
impossible
to
beat
computer
addiction
B.
shy
people
get
addicted
to
computers
easily
C.
teenagers
should
stay
away
from
computers
D.
computers
are
getting
us
into
serious
trouble
C
Parents
can
cut
the
chances
of
their
children
getting
fat
simply
by
keeping
them
longer
at
table.
Just
three
minutes
extra
at
a
family
mealtime
could
help
prevent
child
obesity(肥胖).
Research
found
that
among
poor
families,
the
extra
minutes
at
mealtimes
made
great
improvement
of
a
normal
weight
for
the
youth.
The
factors
are
likely
to
be
communication
and
the
importance
of
a
scheduled
mealtime.
Dr
Barbara
Fiese
said,
“Children,
whose
families
have
a
20-minute
meal
over
four
times
a
week,
weigh
less
than
kids
who
leave
the
table
after
15
to
17
minutes.
Over
time,
those
extra
minutes
per
meal
add
up
and
become
really
powerful.”
The
researchers
studied
200
family
mealtimes,
testing
the
effects
of
factors
and
mealtime
behavior
of
families
with
children
in
primary
school.
They
found
that
families,
who
said
that
shared
mealtimes
were
an
important
part
of
family
life
and
had
special
meaning
for
them,
were
less
likely
to
have
an
obese
child.
Similarly,
families,
who
talked
more
together
and
interacted
more
positively
during
the
meal,
were
more
likely
to
have
healthy-weight
children.
Teaching
low-income
families
how
to
make
the
most
of
family
mealtimes
was
a
wise
idea.
Dr
Fiese
said,
“This
is
something
we
can
target
and
teach.”
She
added,
“It’s
also
important
to
recognize
the
increasing
differences
of
families
and
their
sometimes
complex
living
arrangements
that
may
challenge
their
abilities
to
plan
ahead
and
arrange
a
single
time
to
communicate
with
each
other.”
?
?Families
in
poorer
US
neighborhoods
faced
a
lot
of
problems,
including
poor
access
to
healthy
food.
But
even
so,
regular
high
quality
family
mealtimes
made
a
difference
to
the
children’s
weight.
Dr
Fiese
said,
“Three
to
four
extra
minutes
per
meal
made
a
healthy
weight
more
likely.”
8.
According
to
the
passage,
to
have
a
healthy-weight
child,
parents
should
________.
A.
limit
the
food
for
each
meal
B.
shorten
the
mealtime
C.
increase
their
eating
time
D.
make
them
eat
healthy
food
9.
How
much
time
is
reasonable
for
one
meal
according
to
the
passage?
A.
About
15
minutes.
B.
About
17
minutes.
C.
About
20
minutes.
D.
About
30
minutes.
10.
Why
does
a
longer
mealtime
make
a
difference
to
a
normal
weight?
A.
Because
people
can
communicate
more
in
the
scheduled
time.
B.
Because
people
can
have
time
to
choose
what
they
like.
C.
Because
people
can
use
mealtimes
to
do
other
things.
D.
Because
people
can
have
a
good
rest
as
they
eat
meals.
11.
What
does
Dr
Fiese
suggest
to
us?
A.
Twenty
extra
minutes
per
meal
make
a
healthy
weight.
B.
Parents
should
not
communicate
during
mealtime.
C.
Four
meals
a
day
will
make
a
difference
to
the
children’s
weight.
D.
It’s
better
to
add
three
to
four
extra
minutes
to
one
meal.
D
I
have
lived
in
America’s
countryside
for
nine
years,
first
in
Michigan,
where
I
was
getting
my
university
degree;
then
in
central
Illinois;
and
now
in
Indiana,
where
I
am
a
university
teacher.
There
were
a
few
things
I
enjoyed
complaining(抱怨)about
in
my
living
area.
I’m
a
vegetarian(素食者),
so
there’s
nowhere
to
go
out
for
a
nice
dinner
without
taking
a
15-mile
drive.
I’m
black,
so
there’s
nowhere
to
get
my
hair
done
without
another
15-mile
drive.
I
repeated
these
complaints
to
my
parents
and
my
friends.
Sometimes
it
seemed
like
complaints
were
the
common
language
in
my
circle.
We
all
were
dissatisfied
with
something.
Back
in
Illinois,
my
friends
complained
about
the
train
to
Chicago
and
how
it’s
never
on
time;
my
friends
in
bigger
cities
complained
about
the
expensive
rent
and
strange
smells
on
the
subway.
?
?Complaining
allows
us
to
accept
the
imperfect
without
having
to
take
action.
We
all
have
great
ideas
about
what
life
would
be
like
if
only
we
had
this,
or
did
that,
or
lived
there.
Perhaps
complaining
helps
bridge
the
large
space
between
these
perfect
selves
and
reality.
?
?There’s
also
this:
I
really
didn’t
want
to
change
most
of
the
things
I
complained
about.
Complaining
was
helpful
on
those
days
when
happiness
required
too
much
energy.
But
it
also
made
me
lose
sight
of
something.
I
was
born
and
grew
up
in
Nebraska
and
have
lived
most
of
my
life
in
one
of
the
plains
states.
When
I
went
to
the
coasts,
I
was
surprised
by
how
unattractive
big-city
living
can
be.
?
?Complaining
may
offer
relief,
but
so
does
acceptance.
There
is
no
perfect
place.
There
is
no
perfect
life.
There
will
always
be
something
to
complain
about.
By
focusing
on(关注)my
complaints,
I
risked
missing
out
on
important
moments
of
happiness.
Now,
I
look
up
into
the
night
sky
and
see
all
the
stars.
And
I
know
that
I
have
nothing
to
complain
about.
12.
What
do
we
know
about
the
author?
A.
She
likes
driving
in
the
countryside.
B.
She
is
very
picky
about
her
hair.
C.
She
is
a
well
educated
woman.
D.
She
often
goes
out
for
dinner.
13.
After
complaining,
the
author
probably_____________.
A.
had
a
deeper
understanding
of
reality
B.
tried
to
make
herself
more
perfect
C.
got
sadder
about
her
situation
D.
remained
unchanged
14.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“something”
in
Paragraph
4
refer
to?
A.
The
fact
that
the
author
liked
the
countryside.
B.
The
difference
between
small
and
big
cities.
C.
The
difficulty
in
finding
happiness.
D.
The
purpose
of
the
author’s
life.
15.
The
author
writes
the
text
mainly
to_____________.
A.
make
her
complaints
B.
tell
us
to
stop
complaining
C.
compare
different
lifestyles
D.
tell
us
life
is
the
same
anywhere

If
you
think
your
vocabulary
is
weak,
a
little
effort
every
day
over
six
to
nine
months
can
go
a
long
way
in
improving
it.
Here
are
some
tips
for
increasing
your
vocabulary.
___16___.
You
may
be
comfortable
reading
a
particular
part
but
make
an
effort
to
read
different
articles
on
every
page.
The
editorial
(社论的)
page
is
highly
recommended
not
only
for
vocabulary
but
also
for
structuring
and
presenting
thoughts.
And
there
are
different
articles
in
the
newspaper
every
day.
Make
it
a
habit
to
read
a
new
book
every
week.
It
is
not
surprising
that
those
who
read
a
lot
of
books
develop
good
vocabulary.
___17__
.
Make
a
list
of
words
that
are
new
to
you
and
look
up
their
meanings
in
the
dictionary.
Watching
English
movies
and
television
shows.
It
is
important
for
improving
English
and
learning
new
English
words.
It’s
an
interesting
way
to
add
the
number
of
your
vocabulary.
18
.
Use
vocabulary
cards.
Vocabulary
cards
are
used
by
students
who
are
trying
to
learn
many
words
in
a
short
time.
You
can
make
your
own
cards
by
writing
the
word
on
one
side
and
the
meaning
on
the
other
side
of
a
piece
of
paper.
19
.
Use
the
Internet.
The
Internet
is
an
unlimited
(无限制的)
resource
for
reading
material.
20
.
You
will
come
across
plenty
of
material
to
read,
which
you
might
find
interesting,
and
important.
The
Internet
will
also
introduce
you
to
new
words.
Be
sure
to
look
them
up
in
a
dictionary.
A.
You
can
consider
becoming
a
member
of
the
local
library.
B.
Flash
cards
are
a
convenient
tool
to
use
to
learn
new
words
in
your
free
time.
C.
You
cannot
learn
English
well
without
enough
vocabulary.
D.
Pick
up
a
topic
of
your
choice
and
search
for
articles
about
it.
E.
You
should
develop
your
own
way
of
learning
vocabulary.
F.
Besides,
by
doing
this
you
can
learn
the
correct
pronunciation
as
well.
G.
Read
the
newspaper
every
day.

She

she

She

She

Sometimes
she

“You

At

the

She

she
doesn’t

Her

She

when
she

Lola
is
proud
of
all
her
hard
work
and
success.
She
says
it’s
helped
her
overcome
problems
in
her
life
outside
gymnastics,
too.

My
daughter
and
I
just
went
to
the
local
store
to
get
some
snack
food
for
our
film
day.
As
usual,
my
daughter
helped
me
by
pushing
trolley,
placing
our
shopping
on
the
counter,
packing
it
in
the
bag
for
me
and
using
my
bank
card
to
pay
as
I
couldn’t
reach
the
card
machine.
This
was
just
a
normal
trip
to
the
shop
apart
from
one
thing
that
was
different
for
us
today!
We
were
about
to
leave
when
a
young
man
in
a
blue
shirt
with
brown
hair
stopped
us.
He
spoke
to
my
daughter
and
asked
me
if
it
was
OK
that
he
bought
my
daughter
some
sweets
for
being
so
helpful
and
caring.
My
daughter
chose
a
bag
of
sweets
and
he
went
to
pay,
but
he
saw
another
bag
of
sweets
he
thought
my
daughter
would
like
and
asked
me
if
she
was
allowed
to
have
them.
Needless
to
say,
it
was
hard
for
me
to
hold
back
my
tears
because
of
the
kindness
he
had
shown
us
both.
My
daughter
and
I
thanked
him
but
he
didn’t
want
to
be
thanked.
When
he
left
the
store,
he
said,
“Please
don’t
thank
me.
If
the
world
had
a
few
more
kind
people,
it
would
be
a
much
better
place
to
live.
If
you
really
want
to
thank
me,
I
think
you
can
help
others
who
need
your
help.”
I’m
still
so
shocked
at
the
kindness
this
man
has
shown
us.
Not
only
did
he
take
his
time
to
stop
and
see
how
much
my
7-year-old
daughter
helped
me,
but
he
also
taught
her
a
very
valuable
lesson:
If
you’re
kind
to
others,
then
others
will
be
kind
in
return!
My
daughter
has
been
helping
me
in
so
many
ways
since
I
was
in
my
wheelchair.
She
is
my
rock
and
without
her
I’d
lost.
She
keeps
me
going
in
the
darkest
of
my
days
with
her
smile.
She
lights
my
entire
world.

小作文:
Dear
medical
workers,
I’m
writing
with
the
aim
of
expressing
my
sincere
appreciation
to
you
for
your
selfless
contribution
to
our
country
and
all
the
people.
Since
the
outbreak
of
the
virus,
you
have
worked
in
the
front
line
for
so
long
a
time,
saving
the
patients
who
suffer
from
the
terrible
disease.
It
is
thanks
to
your
devotion
that
the
situation
are
under
control
now.
Words
can’t
fully
express
how
grateful
we
are!
I
do
believe
that
with
your
hard
work,
the
virus
is
sure
to
be
defeated.
Wish
you
a
safe
and
happy
life.
Yours,

读后续写:
I
recalled
the
time
after
I
was
injured
in
an
accident.
I
was
injured
so
seriously
that
I
was
sent
to
the
hospital
in
no
time,
where
I
received
an
operation.
The
operation
was
successful
and
my
life
was
saved,
but
unfortunately,
I
lost
my
legs.
Knowing
that
I
had
to
stay
in
a
wheelchair,
I
was
abandoned
to
sadness
and
hopelessness.
I
had
no
idea
how
I
could
spent
my
rest
life
until
my
daughter
appeared.
She
stood
beside
my
bed,
looking
into
my
eyes
firmly,
and
tole
me,
“
Mom,
you
have
me.”
My
daughter
said
that
she
could
become
my
legs
from
then
on.
She
promised
that
she
could
take
me
wherever
I
wanted
to
go
and
she
could
help
me
to
do
whatever
I
wanted
to
do.
It
was
the
determination
in
her
eyes
that
gave
me
the
courage
and
motivation
to
move
on.
It
was
proved
that
she
actually
looked
after
me
so
well,
which
moved
not
only
me
but
also
the
persons
who
knew
us.
Despite
the
misfortune
that
I
was
caught
in
a
terrible
accident,
I
was
fortunate
enough
to
have
such
a
lovely
daughter.
