Unit4 Interests and Skills Communication Workshop

I抦 Zhang Yong from Zhangcunping Middle School of Yiling.I抦 very glad to be here to share my lesson with you. I抦 going to talk about Communication Workshop, Unit 4 Grade Seven in BNUP. The title is 揑nterests and Skills I will divide the instructions into five parts.

Part One. Analysis of the Teaching Materials
(一)Status and function
?The topic of this unit is talking about interests and skills. It’s close to students’ daily lives. So it’s very interesting. Students would be interested in it. This class is the fourth lesson of this unit. It’s not difficult for students
(二) Analysis of the students
The Ss have learned a lot about English so far. They can understand many words and simple sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now. But in our school, many students are from the countryside. They are a little shy. They are afraid of speaking English and making mistakes in learning English. So in this part, students should be given more chances to practice their pronunciation, and speaking skills.
(三)Teaching aims and demands
1. Knowledge objects
Functions: Talk about interests and skills and describe a person.
Structures: be from, be good at, like doing sth. and so on.
2.Ability objects
(1) To develop the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
(2) To train the Ss ability of working in pairs and groups.
(3) To develop the Ss abilities of communication .
3.Moral objects
(1) To enable the Ss to be careful to describe a person.
(2) To enable the Ss to strengthen their friendship between friends.
(四)Teaching important and difficult points
1、Important points:to describe a person according to the information cards.
2、Difficult points :the usage of some phrases, such as be good at , like, favourite.
(五)Teaching aids:?
In this class, I will use the Seewo Whiteboard and some information cards to help me finish this lesson.
Part Two. Teaching Methods
牋I will use Communicative Teaching Method, 揟ask-based Teaching Method and Pleasure teaching method.
Part Three. Studying Methods
1.Let the students discover and solve the problems by themselves.
2. Make some information cards and share the writing in pairs or in groups.
3.Let the Ss pass "Observation梚mitation桺ractice" to study language.
燩art Four. Teaching Steps
Step 1.Greetings and lead in
Start the class by a competition between two of them. It can improve their interests and help them revise 搃nterests and skills.
Step 2. Revision
1. Read the words about interests and skills, then try to remember them.
2.Try to say some sentences by using these words.
Step 3. Talking
Show some pictures about Kobe. And learn some information about him.
Talk about him by using the information.
We can ask the questions:
What抯 his name?
Where is he from?
How old is he?
What抯 his favourite sports?
What is he good at?
What can he do?
After that, try to complete the information card.
Step 4. Reading
Listen and answer two easy questions.
Then read again and fill in the chart.
Check and share.
Step 5. Practice
Make information cards as a model. Help them say the sentences.
Then ask them try to make their own information cards.
Step 6. Writing practice
Learn how to describe a person.
Enjoy a game . Choose at least five phrases to describe a person.
Gave an example about the writing.
Ask them to write by themselves
Share the writing.
Step 7. Group work
Work in group to share the writing.
Step 8. Homework
Finish the writing.
Review unit 4.
Part Five: Blackboard Design
As for blackboard design, I抣l write the key phrases and the sentences on the left of the blackboard and the right is for the students.
Teaching Reflection
In This class talks about interests and skills. Students are interested in this topic. And it抯 the fourth lesson of this unit. It抯 not difficult for them. So we should encourage all of the students to speak more in this part. Use music and games to improve the students interests. At the same time, help them learn to write a short passage.
