I.Class Opening and Review
T: Good morning, boys and girls. How are you today?
S: Good morning. I'm fine, thanks.
T: Let's sing the song together.
Sing “The Family in Our House” through with the audio tape and do the actions.
II.New Concepts
1.Prepare to Read
Lead a quick class discussion about the story the picture about Jenny's family. Can the students guess what's happening? Can they find words they know in the dialogue?
Play the audiotape as the students read along.
2.Discuss Pictures
The teacher presents the words and the sentences and helps students to understand its meaning with actions, facial expressions or Chinese translations.
3.Read the Story
(1)The teacher asks questions, then let students answer them.
Questions:
T: Where does Lynn hurt?
S: Her head hurts.
T: Can Lynn go to school?
S: No, she can't.
T: Where does Lynn say to Doctor Liu?
S: She said her head hurt.
T: Does Lynn's arm really hurt?
S: No.
T: Does Lynn's leg really hurt?
S: No.
T: Lynn feels too sick to go to school. Why?
S:因为她不想去学校.
T: Lynn feels much better later. Why?
S:因为她想要生日派对.
(2)Play the tape of the story, let students read after paying attention to pronunciation and intonation.
(3)Ask the students questions to check their comprehension.
(4)Divide the students into small groups (<5children), Let them role-read the story.
S1: Mum, I don't feel good. I'm sick.
S2: Oh, no! What's the matter?
S1: My head hurts.

(5)Discuss: How do you like Lynn's behavior?
S1: I don't like Lynn’s behavior.
S2: Me too.

(6)Role-Play: The students try to role play the story.
