Dear Chris,
I’m Li Hua, chairman of the students’ union. On behalf of our school, I’m writing to invite you to our Chinese Culture Festival.
The activities are rich and colorful. First, a professor will deliver a lecture on traditional Chinese festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Day marked by enjoying sights of the full moon while eating moon cakes. Also, there will be exhibitions on traditional arts like Beijing Opera, which I think will impress you a lot.
The Festival starts from August 15th and lasts two weeks in our school. Please tell me when you will arrive so that we can meet you at the airport. We plan to accommodate you in your homestay families, which means more opportunities for cultural exchanges.

W: Philip, the college student who worked in our store during last summer vacation. He has passed the test to be a doctor. He is working in a restaurant.
M: Funny job for a doctor.
W: He抯 saving money. He told me that he was going to work abroad. He wants to help people. But he said that he抎 be back next June. Then he抣l start working as a doctor.
M: Hmm.
W: He told me the flight was about $800. And then he said he was working seven days a week. Well, I don抰 think he should have to work that hard, do you?
M: Yes er I mean no.

M: What?!
W: Well, it抯 he who helped us a lot. He sometimes tutored our kids in math. So I got the money out of the bank and I told him that it was a present from both of us.

M: The most unforgettable experience I抳e ever had? Well, that was three years ago, when I was in college. At that time, I spent a term studying in London. Even though we speak the same language, English people and Americans are very different. I felt that Americans have a bad name. People think that we抮e loud; we speak our minds too much and never think about others. So I tried to listen a bit more and be nice to everyone. I loved living there. Going out for afternoon tea was fun, and I always did that with my friends. And I really loved the old buildings. We didn抰 have anything that old in the United States, so it was pretty amazing! By the way, I also went to Australia once. The buildings there weren抰 so attractive either. The British also have a different sense of humor. Their comedy shows on TV are really funny. I抎 have to say my experience was a positive one. In fact, I抦 saving up money so I can go back there again.

评分原则
1. 本题总分为25分,按5个档次给分。
2. 评分时,先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次,然后以该档次的要求衡量、确定或调整档次,最后给分。
3. 词数少于100和多余140的,从总分中减去2分。
4. 评分时,应注意的主要内容为:内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的丰富性和准确性及上下文的连贯性。
5. 拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面,评分时,应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。
6. 如书写较差,以至影响交际,将分数降低一个档次。
7.句子语法结构不对,时态、语态误用,均为大错;介词、冠词、单词拼写、大小写、标点符号等错误为小错;3个小错相当于1个大错;一个大错扣1分,相同错误只扣一分。
二、各档次的给分范围和要求
第五档 (21-25分) 完全完成了试题规定的任务。完全达到了预期的写作目的。 1. 覆盖所有内容要点。
2. 应用了较多的语法结构和词汇。
3. 语法结构或词汇方面有些许错误,但为尽力使用较复杂结构或较高级词汇所致;具备较强的语言运用能力。
4. 有效地使用了语句间的连接成分,使全文结构紧凑。
第四档 (16-20分) 完成了试题规定的任务。 达到了预期的写作目的。
1. 虽漏掉一、二个次重点,但覆盖所有主要内容。
2. 应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。
3. 语法结构或词汇方面应用基本准确,些许错误主要是因尝试较复杂语法结构或词汇所致。
4. 应用简单的语句间的连接成分,使全文结构紧凑。
第三档 (11-15分) 基本完成了试题规定的任务。 整体而言,基本达到了预期的写作目的。
1. 虽漏掉一些内容,但覆盖所有主要内容。
2. 应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。
