【教学过程】
一、新知学习
1．Introduce words “swimming” and “hobby”.
Guessing the riddles:
A. It is a suitable activity in summer.
B. It needs water.
Children always do this thing.
Answers: swimming.
2．Introduce swimming.
T: Do you know swimming?
Who can swim very well?
(Several students can do this.)
I love to do those things.
Help students to learn “hobby”.
(Help the students to find the differences between “hobby” and “hobbies”.)
3．Introduce the sentence pattern “Why … Because …”
Show a picture of some swimming pools.
T: What do you know about hobby?
Ss: …
T: shows some pictures of different hobbies and introduces swimming, swimmer and so on.
T: I like swimming.
Do you like swimming? Why?
二、巩固练习
There are many other kinds of things that students love.
(Show some pictures related to exercise.)
What do you like? Why?
Make a short dialogue with your partner.
三、作业
（1）新单词写五遍，并熟练掌握本课所学的句型。
（2）和朋友谈谈为什么孩子们喜欢游泳。
