When
Rachel
Ratelle
saw
a
news
video
of
a
burned
koala
trying
to
climb
a
tree
to
safety
in
fire-stricken
Australia,
she
decided
to
do
something
about
it
She
looked
up
wildlife
rescue
and
relief
agencies
in
Australia
to
find
out
what
they
needed
most.
Besides
donations,
many
organizations
asked
for
hand-sewn
and
knitted
pouches(袋子)and
wraps
for
koalas
and
other
animals
that
were
burned
or
had
lost
their
homes
and
parents
in
the
fires.
This
idea
attracted
Ratelle,
but
there
was
just
one
problem.
"I'd
never
sewn
in
my
life,"
said
Ratelle,
17,
a
senior
at
Rancho
Buena
Vista
High
School
in
Vista,
US.
"Giving
money
seemed
like
something
too
simple.
But
I
wanted
to
directly
help
these
animals
by
doing
something
myself
so
I
decided
to
learn
how
to
sew."
Over
the
next
few
months,
Ratelle
bought
her
own
sewing
machine
and
taught
herself
how
to
sew
via
videos
online.
Then
she
purchased
18
yards
of
fabric
and
sewed
25
pouches
of
different
sizes
and
shipped
them
off
to
FAWNA,
one
of
several
relief
organizations
that
have
rushed
to
rescue
koalas,
kangaroos
and
other
species
suffering
from
bums.
A
week
later,
she
received
a
photo
from
EAWNA
with
a
young
koala
in
one
of
her
larger
pouches.
"It
made
me
feel
like
I
contributed
to
the
world
and
it
showed
how
a
simple
act
of
kindness
can
go
a
long
way,"
said
Ratelle,
who
hopes
to
study
biology
for
a
future
career
as
a
nurse
practitioner.
Several
craft
websites
around
the
world
have
appealed
to
people
to
make
the
animal
pouches.
Karen
Newberry
and
her
two
daughters
Madison,
12
and
Rochelle,
8,
from
San
Diego
also
offered
their
help
in
such
a
way.
For
Newberry,
"It
was
a
big
push
that
made
us
crafters,
sewers
realize
there's
something
more
we
can
do
than
just
make
things
for
ourselves,”
she
said.
24.What
does
the
first
paragraph
mainly
talk
about?
A.
What
inspired
Ratelle
to
learn
to
sew.
B.
The
poor
living
conditions
of
Australian
animals.
C.
What
is
needed
to
save
koalas
and
other
species.
D.
Different
ways
to
help
koalas
and
other
animals.
25.
How
did
Ratelle
feel
when
she
received
a
photo
from
FAWNA?
A.
Calm.
B.
Surprised.
C.
Proud.
D.
Disappointed.
26.
What
can
we
learn
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.
It
is
challenging
for
crafters
and
sewers
to
do
relief
work.
B.
Life
is
not
easy
for
crafters
and
sewers
in
Australia.
C.
People
should
stay
united
through
difficult
times.
D.
Many
people
are
involved
in
helping
injured
animals.
27.What's
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
Helping
Injured
Wildlife
B.
A
Big
Bushfire
in
Australia
C.

Pouches
D.

Many
of
us
know
about
Russia's
Lake
Baikal
from
our
textbooks,
or
by
listening
to
Chinese
singer
Li
Jian's
hit
song,
Lake
Baikal.
But
over
the
past
decade,
the
world's
deepest
freshwater
lake
has
been
in
the
spotlight
for
an
extreme
sport.
Each
March
since
2005,
about
150
people
from
around
the
world
sign
up
for
the
Baikal
Ice
Marathon.
They
come
to
explore
the
lake's
breathtaking
beauty
and
challenge
themselves
in
unpredictable
conditions.
The
26-mile
journey
starts
on
the
lake's
eastern
shore.
In
March,
the
ice
is
a
meter
thick
and
iron-hard.
Runners
cross
this
frozen
surface,
finishing
on
the
western
side
of
the
lake.
Known
as
the
"blue
eye
of
Siberia",
Lake
Baikal
has
exceptionally
clear
waters.
This
means
its
ice
is
almost
perfectly
transparent
(透明的)."Seen
from
above,
a
runner
on
the
ice
looks
as
if
he
or
she
is
jogging
through
space,"
The
New
York
Times
noted.
The
landscape
might
be
beautiful,
but
the
weather
is
harsh.
Strong
winds
blow
across
the
lake
and
frostbite(冻伤)can
occur
within
half
an
hour.
Runners
say
the
cold
climate
is
what
draws
them.
They
want
to
test
their
limits.
"When
you
are
in
such
an
environment,
you
don't
have
cars
around
you,
you
don't
have
the
noise
around.
I
think
these
extreme
races
allow
you
to
be
alone
with
nature,"
Alicja
Barahona,
a
64-year-old
runner
from
the
US,
told
ABC
News.
The
location
offers
some
strange
and
unique
characteristics
for
this
marathon.
The
finish
line
is
visible
from
the
start,
but
the
endless
white
offers
no
progress
markers.
The
race
also
ends
with
little
fanfare
(喧闹).Tourists
crowding
the
ice
are
mostly
addicted
to
taking
photos
and
just
ignore
the
runners.
For
some
runners,
the
absence
of
audience
makes
the
race
more
challenging,
because
it's
lonely.
They
must
fight
with
themselves.
"You
are
alone
on
Baikal.
It
is
your
race.
You
are
alone
with
yourself
All
you
need
to
do
is
to
defeat
yourself,"
Veronique
Messina,
a
French
runner,
told
the
Telegraph.
28.What
do
we
know
about
the
Baikal
Ice
Marathon?

jog
through
space.
B.
It
attracts
more
and
more
participants
each
year.
C.
It
combines
extreme
weather
and
beautiful
scenery.
D.
It
highlights
our
textbooks
and
Li
Jian's
hit
song.
29.
What
does
the
underlined
word
"harsh”
in
Paragraph
4
probably
mean?
A.
Pleasant.
B.
Severe.
C.
Annoying.
D.
Damp.
30.
How
does
the
Baikal
Ice
Marathon
differ
from
other
marathons?
A.
Only
men
are

to
run
in
this
race.
B.
There
are
many
progress
markers
on
the
ice.
C.
The
runners
are
often
disturbed
by
tourists.
D.
The
runners
can
see
the
finish
line
from
the
start.
31.
What
is
the
most
challenging
in
the
race
for
Messina?

Call
it
a
mobility
system
or
a
wheelchair—it
can
be
seen
at
the
Tokyo
airport
moving
on
its
own.
It
is
helping
with
social
distancing
while
fighting
the
spread
of
the
coronavirus.
It
also
helps
older
passengers
and
those
who
otherwise
need
assistance
walking
the
last
few
steps
to
the
boarding
gate.
The
mobility
system
seats
one
person
and
runs
on
its
own
without
hitting
anything.
It
has
a
pre-programmed
path
of
about
600
meters
at
Tokyo
's
Haneda
International
Airport.
It
was
shown
on
Monday
by
WHILL,
the
company
behind
the
technology.
WHILL
Chief
Executive
Satoshi
Sugie
said
robotics
and
self-driving
technology
reduce
the
need
for
a
human
at
the
wheel.
They
are
good
for
these
times
of
"living
with"
coronavirus.
The
ride
lasts
several
minutes.
It
travels
from
the
security
area
to
the
boarding
gate
at
a
speed
of
3.5
kilometers
per
hour.
But
many
people
hope
the
technology
can
help
in
other
places,
such
as
hospitals
or
parks.
The
technology
uses
sensors
and
cameras
to
see
a
clear
path
and
avoid
hitting
those
walking
toward
it.
It
could
also
help
Japan
free
up
laborers.
Japan,
like
many
other
nations,
suffers
from
a
labor
shortage.
The
technology
could
free
a
worker
to
do
another
job.
Tests
have
been
carried
out
at
several
airports
since
last
year,
including
John
F.
Kennedy
International
Airport
in
New
York.
The
company
hopes
to
put
it
in
airports
around
the
world.
The
person
on
the
machine
can
start
or
stop
it
through
a
simple
controller.
It
runs
on
batteries
and
is
programmed
to
return
to
where
it
started
when
its
passenger
gets
off
Anyone
needing
help
walking
long
distances
can
use
it
at
Terminal

It
is
called
the
"last-mile
mobility,
says
WHILL.

for
human
beings.
C.
These
times
of

team
of

In

I'm
a

I

I
wanted
to
use
Bella
to
bring
her
joy,
comfort
and
confidence
the
way
only
a

That
morning
in
January,
her
teacher
led
us
to
a
room
by
the
school

“Sally

her

for
two
years,"
she
told
me.
"Her
parents

her

but
nothing

A
little
girl
stood
shyly
just
inside
the
doorway.
Her
eyes
brightened
when
noticing
my
dog.
"This
is
Isabella
Rose.
I
call
her

I
said.
"Would
you
like
to
pet
her?
She
doesn't
know
anyone
here
and
she'd
like
to
meet
you.
She
does
tricks.
Would
you
like
to
see?"
Sally
nodded.
I
motioned
with
my
hand.
Bella
lay
down
and
then
rolled
over.
Sally’s
eyes
cheered
up.
''She'll
do
it
for
you
too,"
I
said.
"I
can
teach
you."
I
showed
Sally
the
hand
signals
for
various
commands.
She
was
a
natural
with
Bella.
Soon
Sally
was
able
to
take
Bella
at
her
pace
all
on
her
own.
I
could
see
her
standing
taller,
more
sure
of
herself
each
time
we
met.
One
morning,
when
she
was
working
with
Bella,
I
heard
a
tiny
voice,
barely
a
whisper:
“Good
dog."
Sally
didn't
take
her
eyes
off
Bella,
but
I
wanted
to
jump
for
joy.
Sally
spoke
a
little
more
each
week,
only
to
Bella
at
first,
but
then
to
me.
Later,
she
started
giving
voice
commands
with
her
hand
signals
and
her
confidence
rose.
Still,
she
hadn't
spoken
in
her
classroom.
"Could
you
bring
Bella
to
my
class
and
show
the
other
kids
her
tricks?”
Sally
asked
me
one
day.
An
idea
struck
me.
"Why
don't
you
do
it?”
I
said.
"I
know
you
can.
You're
as
good
with
Bella
as
I
am."
The
girl
nodded,
but
she
added
that
I
should
go
to
the
classroom
with
her.
Sally
was
so
excited
about
putting
on
the
dog
show
for
her
class
that
she
practiced
hard
with
the

for
weeks.
And
she

语篇导读:本文讲述了巴西一家养老院搭建“拥抱通道”,帮助老人们克服新冠疫情期间由于缺乏亲人的关怀而引起的情绪低落问题。
41.
C
“情绪低落”英语习惯上的表达是…spirits
are
low…所以选择C。
42.
D
老人们情绪低落是因为他们的亲人不能够亲自(in
person)来“拜访”他们,所以选择D项。
43.
B
养老院的人们“想起来”解决办法,come
up
with
符合题意。
44.
A
这种办法能够让他们拥抱但同时让他们保持安全,不会被“感染”。
45.
C
此题和41题所在的句子内容相符合。
46.
D
根据下文的提示,此处用D项,hug。
47.
C
养老院设置“拥抱通道”的目的是为了让老人们和他们的家人能够“拥抱”以客服他们的低落情绪,所以这里是C项,visitors。
48.
B
根据上文的描述,老人们的家人前来探视,他们和老人之间隔着一层塑料薄膜,在塑料薄膜的不同高度上,设置不同高度的塑料衣袖,薄膜两侧的人们可以隔着塑料薄膜拥抱,
所以此题是side。

参看第49题。
51.
C
由于老人们和他们的家人是隔着塑料薄膜拥抱的,他们是可以感受到“温暖”的。

53.
B
这里是指养老院设立拥抱通道的“想法”来自一段视频。B项符合题意。

D
这种做法已经报道立刻在全世界流行起来,在特殊时期,使得老年人们和他们的亲人能够保持“相连,联系”。
55.
D
最后一句话把表了作者对这种做法的感触“爱是无限的”或者“爱是不会被限制的”。D项最好。

M:
Of
course.
But
I’ve
just
bought
a
new
one.
I
don’t
have
his
number
on
it
yet.

M:
A
man
has
started
selling
fruit
outside
the
front
gate.
Our
new
furniture
is
due
to
arrive
soon.
I’m
afraid
he
will
be
in
the
way.
W:
I’ll
go
out
and
ask
him
to
pick
another
spot.
(2)
He’s
a
nice
man.
I
don’t
think
he’ll
mind.
Text

W:
I
would
give
my
right
arm
to
get
those
concert
tickets.
They
are
my
favorite
band
all
the
time.
(3)
M:
I
had
to
wait
hours
to
get
mine.
Someone
fell
down
and
injured
themselves
when
I
was
in
line.
Text

M:
The
last
time
I
came
to
this
restaurant
was
for
my
18th
birthday.
W:
Has
it
changed
much
in
the
last
5
years?
M:
It’s
6
years,
actually.
(4)
And
yes,
the
menu
is
completely
different.
Text
5
M:
Martha,
can
you
come
to
the
front
and
show
how
you
worked
out
the
problem
on
the
blackboard?
(5)
W:
Certainly.
It’s
not
rocket
science.
If
the
car
is
traveling
at
this
speed,
then
it
will
only
take
two
hours
to
reach
the
zoo.
Text

W:
I
heard
the
president
of
the
company
was
visiting
tomorrow.
(6)
Is
that
true?
M:
No,
I
heard
he
was
retiring
due
to
poor
health.
W:
Then
who
is
coming
to
visit?
(6)
M:
His
daughter,
maybe.
She’s
next
in
line.
(6)
W:
She’s
only
20
years
old.
I
was
working
here
for
10
years
before
she
was
even
born.
(7)
M:
Maybe
they
will
surprise
us
and
bring
a
famous
singer
to
us.
W:
Unlikely.
I
think
you
are
right.
It
will
be
the
daughter.
(6)
That’s
why
they
want
everyone
here.
M:
If
it
is
true,
it’s
the
end
of
an
era.
Text

M:
How
about
we
go
bowling
this
Friday
instead
of
playing
badminton
as
usual?
(8)
W:
Sounds
like
fun.
We
can
invite
Jen
and
Jack
as
well.
M:
Jack
might
not
be
free.
I
think
he
has
tickets
to
see
the
basketball
game.
W:
We
should
wait
until
we
are
all
free.
We
can
go
see
a
film
at
the
new
cinema.
M:
I’d
prefer
to
watch
one
at
home.
W:
Or,
we
could
sit
outside
and
project
it
onto
the
wall?
M:
No,
it
might
rain.
Let’s
just
stay
in.
We
can
order
food.
W:
Italian
or
American?
I
want
to
go
for
a
hamburger.
M:
I
was
thinking
more
Chinese
chicken
noodles.
(9)
W:
Come
on!
We
always
eat
those.

W:
What
things
do
you
think
are
difficult
for
past
generations?
M:
Technology.
Think
how
much
it
has
changed
in
the
last
30
years.
W:
I
know
what
you
mean.
Some
old
people
struggle
to
use
a
mobile
phone.
M:
Although
it
also
helps
them.
I
speak
to
my
grandfather
through
video
calls
once
a
week.
(11)
W:
So
they
benefit
from
technology,
too.
I
think
changes
in
culture
are
the
most
difficult.
M:
I
think
you
are
right.
Many
things
are
acceptable
now
while
they
were
not
50
or
60
years
ago.
W:
I
also
think
there
has
been
a
global
change
in
awareness.
My
mother
does
not
believe
climate
change
is
real,
but
I
think
it’s
the
biggest
threat
we
face.
(12)
M:
Our
generation
knows
we
have
to
work
with
each
other
to
save
the
world.

M:
So
what
does
your
father
do
for
a
living?
(13)
(14)
W:
He’s
retired.
He
used
to
build
ships.
(13)
He
now
spends
most
of
his
time
golfing.
M:
What
kind
of
ships?
W:
Big
ones
that
transport
oil
to
other
countries.
M:
Like
the
one
that
crashed
last
week?
W:
Yeah.
That’s
why
he
gave
up.
He
saw
how
badly
it
affected
the
environment.
(14)
What
does
your
dad
do?
(15)
M:
He’s
a
doctor.
He
has
his
own
practice
out
in
the
country.
He
is
very
popular
with
his
patients.
W:
When
was
the
last
time
you
saw
him?
(15)
M:
Not
for
some
time.
We
email
a
lot,
but
it’s
quite
a
long
journey
by
car.
(15)
W:
You
should
take
a
train.
M:
No,
I’m
not
very
well
on
trains.
I
prefer
to
drive
where
I
can
reach
possibly.
(15)
W:
Is
there
no
airport
nearby?
M:
No,
the
nearest
city
is
3
hours’
drive.
Either
way
I
will
have
a
long
journey,
so
I
would
rather
just
do
it
all.
W:
That’s
a
shame.
M:
Well,
I
plan
to
take
a
trip
to
see
him
this
weekend.

The
Jing-Hang
Grand
Canal,
a
UNESCO
World
Heritage
Site,
is
the
world’s
longest
and
oldest
canal.
(17)
Starting
at
Beijing,
it
passes
through
Tianjin
and
the
provinces
of
Hebei,
Shandong,
Jiangsu
and
Zhejiang
to
the
city
of
Hangzhou,
linking
the
Yellow
River
and
Yangtze
River.
The
oldest
parts
date
back
to
the
5th
century
BC,
but
the
sections
were
first
connected
during
the
Sui
Dynasty
(581—618
AD).
Dynasties
in
1271—1633
rebuilt
the
canal
and
changed
its
route
to
supply
Beijing.
The
total
length
of
the
canal
is
1776
kilometers.
Despite
temporary
periods
of
ruin
and
disuse,
the
canal
has
improved
China’s
economy.
(18)
The
south
part
is
still
in
heavy
use.
(19)
By
the
1990s,
pollution
had
reached
the
point
where
boat
crews
could
tell
when
they
were
nearing
Hangzhou
by
the
smell
of
the
water.
A
$250
million
repair
project
begun
in
2001
has
improved
water
quality.
Currently,
ships
can
only
travel
up
to
Jining.
(20)
The
section
from
Jining
to
Beijing
is
not
available
for
transport
due
to
the
mud
buildup
from
the
Yellow
River
and
a
lack
of
water
sources.
There
are
plans
on
restoring
transportation
up
to
Tai’an.
