Dear Sue,
My favorite Chinese festival is the Spring Festival. It is celebrated on the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar.
Before the festival, our houses have to be cleaned and we need to buy new clothes. On the eve, my family go to my grandparent’s home for a reunion dinner. Our family usually have jiaozi, niangao, fish and the other delicious food.
On the first day of the festival, people wear new clothes and visit relatives and friends. Children will receive red packets filled with “lucky” money. That’s one of my favorite parts of this festival.
It’s my favorite festival because I enjoy spending time with my relatives. It makes me feel very happy and loved to be with my family.
