通过图片展示引入新课;通过对话练习,练习What’s your name? I’m..., Where are you from? I’m from...;利用听读练习,让学生加强对对话的理解,培养学生获取细节信息的能力;设置对短文填空的练习,让学生进一步理解和掌握关键信息;设置结对练习,让学生达到学以致用的目的。
教学目标
通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

掌握本单元新单词: Chinese, from, where, year, about, Ms, America, not, England, hi, American, our, grade, he, China。

(1)能够运用所学的语言表达与同学打招呼。
(2)能够运用所学的语言介绍自己。

教学过程
Step 1 Warming up
1. Introduce yourself to the class.
Show a picture of yours and introduce yourself to the students.
T: I am Li Fang. I am from Wuhan…
2. Ask the students to introduce themselves by answering the questions.
What’s your name?
Where are you from?
How old are you?

Step2 Listening and vocabulary
1. Listen and check (√) the number of speakers.
(1) Play the recording in Activity 1 once while they listen.
(2) Play it again for them to work out how many speakers there are.
(3) Play once again to check the answers.
Answers: c)
2. Listen again and check (√) the words you hear.
(1) Ask the students to read the words in the box in Activity 2.
(2) Put them in pairs to check their answers.

Step3 Listening and reading
1. Listening.
(1)Play the recording in Activity 3 for them to listen to the conversation and answer the questions.

3 Are they in the same class?
(2) Check the answers together.
Answers: 1 Five. 2 Ms Li, Lingling, Daming, Tony and Betty. 3 Yes, they are.
(3) Ask them to listen again and check (√) the true sentences.

2 Lingling is twelve years old.
3Daming is thirteen years old.
4 Tony is not in Class 4.
5Betty is from America.
(4) Check the answers with the whole class.

2. Reading.
Get the students to read the conversation in groups loudly and talk about the pictures.


Step 4 Language points
1. I’m from Wuhan. 我来自武汉。(我是武汉人。)
be from 表示“来自……”“是……人”。
He’s from Beijing. 他来自北京。(他是北京人。)
They’re from England. 他们来自英格兰。(他们是英格兰人。)
【拓展】如果不强调从哪里来,只是要说明身份,也可以说:
He’s a Beijinger. 他是北京人。
They’re English. 他们是英国人。
2. Where are you from? 你来自哪里?
英语中,通常用特殊疑问句“Where + is/are + 主语+ from?”来询问某人“来自哪里”“是哪里人”,其答语通常用“主语+ am/is/are +from + 地点.”。
—Where is Sam from?
萨姆从哪里来?
—He is from England.
他来自英格兰。
【拓展】be from = come from
—Where does Sam come from?萨姆来自哪里?
—He comes from England. 他来自英格兰。
3. What’s your name?你叫什么名字?
英语中,当你想知道对方叫什么名字时,可用句型“What’syourname?”进行询问,其答语一般用“Mynameis + 姓名.”。
—What’s your name? 你叫什么名字?
—My name’s Gao Jing. 我叫高晶。
【拓展】当你想很有礼貌地询问别人的名字时,你可以这样问:
What’s your name, please?
May I have your name, please?
4. I’m thirteen years old. 我13岁。
…year(s)old表示“……岁”。
有时候year(s)old可以省略,只用数字来表达年龄即可。

【拓展】对年龄提问可用Howold...?“……多大,几岁?”,它是英语中一个较重要的句型,其答语通常用“主语+ am/is/are + 年龄”。
—How old are you? 你多大了?
—I am ten (years old). 我十岁。
5. Hello, what about you? 你好,你呢?
英语中“What about...?”用来询问他人的情况、征求意见或提出建议, about为介词,后面可接名词、代词或动词-ing形式。
I’d like a cup of tea. What about you?
我想喝杯茶,你呢?
What about playing football now?
现在踢足球怎么样?
6. Welcome to Class 4 Grade 7! 欢迎来到7年级4班!
(1)“Welcome to +地点名词.”意为“欢迎来到……”。
Welcome to our school. 欢迎来到我们学校。
【拓展】welcome后接here, there, home等地点副词时,去掉介词to。
Welcome here! 欢迎来到这儿!
(2)Class 4 Grade 7意为“7年级4班”,表达班级和年级时,班级在前,年级在后。
We are in Class 3 Grade 7. 我们在7年级3班。

1. Work in pairs. Choose the correct answer.
(1) Ask the students to read the sentences in Activity 4.
(2) Get them to work in pairs and choose the correct answer.
1 —Is Daming from Beijing?
—Yes, he is. /No, he isn’t.
2 — Is Lingling from Beijing?
—Yes, she is. /No, she isn’t.
3 — Is Tony from America?
—Yes, he is. /No, he isn’t.
4 — Is Betty English?
—Yes, she is. /No, she isn’t.
5 —Are you from China?
—Yes, I am. /No, I’m not.

2. Complete the passage with the correct form of the words from the box.
(1) Ask the students to read the words in the box aloud.
(2) Ask them to complete the sentences individually and then check with a partner.
(3) Check the answers with the whole class.
