Task 1 Make today’s weather report
Here’s an example.
Good morning! Here’s the weather report for some big cities in the world.
Beijing is cloudy. It’s very cold, so wear warm clothes when you go out. In Guangzhou there’s beautiful sunshine. People will feel cool in the daytime. It is sunny in New York, but there’s a strong wind in the afternoon. It will be rainy in Sydney but very hot . The day after tomorrow will be sunny.
That’s the weather report for today. Thank you for listening.

Task 3 Discovery
1. You must be joking !
2. It may not even be cold .
3. It might be windy .
情态动词: must may might
1) must (一定): 表示具有很大的可能性. He must be ill . He doesn’t come today .
2) may (可能): 暗含不确定的意思. He may be at home .
3) might :表可能,但它的含义比may 更不确定. He might come soon .
4. 天气将会怎么样:
-What will the weather be like -It will be ……
5. 出发: be off to = go to = leave for
We are off to Beijing .
6. 干某事的最好时候: the best time to do sth .
Spring is the best time to plant trees .
7. 既不……也不 : not … or e.g. I haven’t been to Shanghai or Beijing .
