Task 2: Finish the dialogue on P57. 4 and practise it in pairs.
Task 3 Speaking
Your best friend Chris. is studying in a key high school now. As a freshman, he feels quite stressed and nervous in his study and life. You will give him some suggestions on how to reduce stress and live a happy life. You can talk about it from the following aspects:
1. time management
2. study
3. diet
4. exercise
Tips:1. Don't try to be perfect.
It's great to succeed and reach for the stars. But keep things in balance. If you think that "anything less than A+ means I've failed" then you are creating mountains of unnecessary stress for yourself. Aim to do your best but recognize that none of us can be perfect all of the time.
2. Take steps to overcome problems.
If you find you don't understand some of your course material, getting stressed out won’t help. Instead, take action to address (提出,处理)the problem directly by seeing your course tutor or getting help from your class mates.
3. Don't keep things bottled up.
Confiding in (倾诉,信赖)someone you trust and who will be supportive is a great way of alleviating (减轻)stress and worry.
What is Life?
Life can be good,
Life can be bad,
Life is the mostly cheerful but sometimes sad.
Life can be dreams,
Life can be great thoughts,
Life can mean a person sitting in court.
Life can be dirty,
Life can even be painful,
But life is what we make, so try to make it beautiful.
