When
you
first
step
into
a
classroom,
one
of
the
first
things
to
catch
your
eye
is
usually
a
list
of
rules.
However,
there's
one
rule
that
you
just
can't
help
but
question:
No
electronics.
In
reality,
the
classrooms
in
our
school
have_an_aversion_to
modern
technology,
so
electronic
devices
(设备)
such
as
computers
and
cellphones
are
not
allowed,
for
they
are
thought
to
have
a
bad
influence
on
children's
attention
at
class.
However,
is
it
possible
that
these
devices
could
actually
be
used
to
improve
our
learning
experience?
As
is
known
to
us,
these
years
we
have
spent
so
much
time
talking
about
the
disadvantages
of
modern
technology
that
we've
failed
to
see
their
advantages
in
a
classroom.
Many
people
of
the
80's
and
90's
still
remember
learning
about
history
by
playing
the
game
The
Oregon
Trail,
and
many
of
us
2000's
teenagers
remember
games
such
as
Brain
Age
that
encouraged
our
cognitive
(认知的)
development.
It
doesn't
end
with
educational
games,
either.
Take
Minecraft
for
example.
While
a
parent
may
complain
(抱怨)
that
their
child
spends
too
much
time
playing
the
hit
video
game,
what
they
probably
fail
to
realize
is
that
their
child's
brain
is
being
enriched
with
information
allowing
creativity
and
problem?solving.
Children
who
play
on
public
or
local
computers
may
also
pick
up
on
social
skills.
For
older
children,
creating
computer
games
can
be
a
great
introduction
to
coding
(编码).Many
schools
have
begun
to
bring
the
game
into
their
classrooms.
In
the
end,
it's
important
that
we
welcome
technological
development
in
our
classrooms
and
see
the
educational
value
in
having
fun.School
no
longer
must
mean
sitting
down
for
hours
in
front
of
a
pictureless
textbook.
Instead,
school
can
be
a
place
where
children
are
able
to
see
learning
as
a
lifelong
experience.
1.What
does
the
underlined
part
“have
an
aversion
to”
in
Paragraph
1
mean?
A.Dislike.
B.Change.
C.Expect.
D.Overuse.
2.Some
computer
games
are
mentioned
to
show
________.
A.parents
know
little
about
computer
games
B.children
can
create
better
computer
games
C.children
can
learn
from
computer
games
D.parents
only
welcome
educational
games
3.What
is
the
author's
attitude
towards
electronic
devices?
A.He
is
against
them.
B.He
is
in
favor
of
them.
C.He
is
uninterested
in
them.
D.He
is
uncertain
about
them.

Melbourne
Girls’
College
is
getting
rid
of
all
its
bins
and
asking
students
to
take
their
rubbish
home
in
a
bold
bid
to
encourage
them
to
move
towards
zero
waste.
Starting
next
Monday,
the
Richmond
college
will
over
five
weeks
phase
out
receptacles
in
classrooms
and
the
yard,
leaving
1400
students
and
140
staff
to
find
their
own
home
for
chip
packets
and
juice
boxes.
  Even
the
school’s
20
recycling
bins
will
be
removed,
because
the
collapse
of
SKM
Recycling
means
the
college's
plastic
and
glass
recycling
is
now
sent
to
landfill.
Paper
can
still
be
recycled
via
the
school,
because
recycling
for
that
is
still
operating.
  As
part
of
the
shift,
volunteer
students
will
conduct
daily
non-compulsory
food
inspections
in
which
children
bringing
‘‘zero
waste’’
lunch
boxes
will
be
rewarded.
Students
using
only
reusable
packaging
will
receive
a
token(礼券)
that
will
go
into
a
draw
to
win
prizes
such
as
keep
cups.
Teacher
Paula
McIntosh
says
the
new
policy
will
help
persuade
families
to
buy
fewer
packaged
items
and
reuse
containers.
She
said
the
campaigning
of
Swedish
teenage
climate
activist
Greta
Thunberg
had
inspired
the
school,
showing
that
the
acts
of
one
person
"can

to
enormous
change".
Student
environment
leader
Lucy
Skelton,
17,
says
most
issues
around
carrying
rubbish
home,
such
as
smell
and
mess,
can
be
solved.
Ms
McIntosh
acknowledges
that
some
parents
may
not
have
the
time
or
means
to
avoid
food
in
single-use
packaging.”
She
says
she
got
the
no-bins
idea
from
national
park
guidelines,
which
ask
visitors
to
take
rubbish
home
with
them.
  School
sustainability
co-ordinator
Andrew
Vance
says
his
marine
biology
students
were
horrified
when
they
used
a
microscope
to
discover
micro
plastics
in
Port
Phillip
Bay
water.
  "It
was
shocking,"
Mr
Vance
says.
"We
felt,
'Oh
my
gosh,
what
can
we
do
about
this
problem?'
"
4.

warming.

Some
Tips
on
Helping
Your
Kids
Use
the
Internet
Optimally
Let’s
face
it,
our
kids
are
using
the
internet
whether
or
not
we
want
them
to.
Here
are
some
tips,
which
can
help
use
the
internet
positively.
Set
Internet
Usage
Rules
No
personal
information
should
be
shared
on
the
net.
1
Sometimes
it’s
necessary
to
share
information
but
they
should
do
it
only
in
your
presence.
Your
kids
need
to
realize
that
once
content
has
been
uploaded,
they
may
have
little
control
over
its
use.
It
is
important
to
know
how
content
can
be
misused.
Have
specific
rules
about
content
uploading,
viewing
and
viewer
access.
2
Ask
your
kids
if
they’d
like
to
face
mean
tricks,
bad
language
and
cheating.
Let
them
develop
the
right
attitude
before
they
use
the
internet
to
game,
chat
&
email.
Remember
your
kids
will
be
influenced
by
other
kids
in
school.
Later
on,
bad
judgments,
pranks
and
mistakes
will
occur.
Prepare
in
advance
by
teaching
them
to
respect
others
and
command
respect
in
turn.
Monitor
and
Mentor
3
Log
in
to
their
social
media
accounts
daily
&
observe
what’s
happening.
Don’t
do
your
spying
in
secret;
let
your
kids
know
that
you’re
letting
them
use
certain
sites
based
on
your
right
to
monitor.
Ensure
Responsible
Conduct
Kids
use
the
internet
for
scholarly
research
these
days.
However,
they
should
know
that
just
because
information
is
available
online,
it
doesn’t
mean
it
is
accurate.
Teach
them
how
to
verify
the
information
by
comparing
it
to
alternative
sources.
4
In
a
word,
put
yourself
in
your
child’s
shoes
and
try
to
see
how
he/she
perceives
the
internet.
If
your
child
sees
it
as
a
learning
tool,
maintain
the
status
quo.
5
Always
remember
that
when
it
comes
to
the
internet,
the
positive
aspects
far
outweigh
the
negatives.
A.
Cover
the
Basics
B.
Develop
the
Right
Attitude
C.
Let
them
know
that
there
are
no
easy
routes
in
life.
D.
If
your
child
seems
excessively
curious
or
sly,
be
on
the
watch.
E.
Explain
how
bad
people
use
it
to
stalk,
harm
and
ruin
people’s
lives.
F.
Remember,
more
than
53%
of
population
in
India
is
addicted
to
the
internet
(?https:?/??/?www.practo.com?/?healthfeed?/?internet-addiction-disorder-26680?/?post?).
G.
While
trust
is
necessary,
don’t
forget
to
monitor
and
mentor
online
interactions.

A
本文是一篇议论文。作者认为电子设备对课堂有益。作者通过举电脑游戏的例子告诉读者:在课堂中融入现代科技有利于孩子们学习。
1.
A 词义猜测题。由下文中的“electronic

cellphones
are
not
allowed,
for
they
are
thought
to
have
a
bad
influence
on
children's
attention
at
class”可知,作者所在的学校并不喜欢使用现代科技,故画线部分意为“不喜欢;厌恶”。
2.
C 推理判断题。第二、三段介绍了具有教育意义的电脑游戏和最新的娱乐性的电脑游戏都可以对孩子们的学习产生益处。
3.
B 推理判断题。由第二段中的“we've

net.个人信息不应在网上共享。可知这里指的是网络信息安全问题。所以这里“解释坏人如何利用它来跟踪、伤害和破坏人们的生活。”正确。故选E。
2.
B这里是考查小标题。根据文中的Let
them
develop
the
right
attitude
before
they
use

5.
D本段是总结段落。这里列举了两种情况,所以“如果你的孩子看起来过于好奇,要当心。”故选D。
第二部分
语言知识运用(20分)
本文讲述了本来很少接受学生不做作业的理由的作者了解学生Anthony不写作业的原因后,为学生们提供了课外学习室,作者由此明白人与人之间的理解很重要,“乐意倾听”比一味地“不接受理由”效果更好。
1.
B 根据该句中的“why
students
didn't
do
their
homework”和下文“No
excuses!”可知,在作者早期的教学生涯中,作者听说了无数可笑的学生没有做作业的借口(excuses)。
2.
D 根据下文中的“No
excuses!”并结合语境可推知,随着时间的推移,作者越来越有经验,不会轻易被学生的借口所欺骗,故D项正确。
3.
A 根据该句中的“except
a
death
in
the
__39__”并结合语境可知,作者忽视那些借口,除了个别特殊的情况。A项意为“忽视,不理睬”,故A项正确。
4.
B 根据该句中的“a
death”并结合常识可推知,空处表示家里有人去世这样重大的理由作者是不能忽视的,故B项正确。
5.
C 根据空前的感叹号和语境可推知,作者在开学第一天就警告(warned)自己的学生不要找借口。
6.
C 根据空前的“I
never
asked
why”以及空后的“I
sighed
loudly”并结合语境可推知,C项“反而”符合语境,故C项正确。

A 根据语境可知,作者大声叹气,然后在分数簿上记上个零。A项意为“记录”,故A项正确。
8.
B 根据上文作者不为学生的各种可笑的借口所动和该句中的“I
wanted
as
a
strict
teacher”可推知,作者很快就赢得了严厉老师的名声(reputation)。
9.
D 根据空后的“after
the
bell
rang”并结合语境可知,铃声响后不久,Anthony走近(approached)作者,给作者解释没有做作业的原因。shortly
after“在……之后不久”符合语境,故A项正确。
10.
A 参见上题解析。
11.
D 根据第40空后的“my
eighth
graders”和该句中的“I
could
see”并结合常识可知,作者作为老师应该比八年级的学生Anthony要高,由此可推知,当Anthony抬头看作者时,作者能看到他的嘴唇在颤抖。D项意为“抬头看”,故D项正确。
12.
A 根据上文中的“I
paused.
I
knew
why.”可知,作者本来要责问但因为想通了原因而停顿了一下,换了另一个问题,故A项正确。
13.

be
offering
an

第二节
书面表达(满分35分)
Dear
Tom,
I’m
sorry
to
hear
that
you
have
become
addicted
to
the
Internet
games.
I
know
you
are
eager
to
give
it
up.
As
for
your
addiction,
I
will
give
you
some
suggestions.
For
one
thing,
it’s
better
for
you
to
do
some
outdoor
activities,
which
can
keep
your
attention
off
the
Internet.
For
another
thing,
you
can
try
to
make
friends
with
your
classmates,
by
communicating
frequently
with
them,
you
may
forget
the
Internet.
At
last,
you
can
try
to
read
books
instead
of
playing
games.
I
hope
you
can
take
my
suggestions
seriously.
And
get
rid
of
the
Internet
games.
Best
wishes!
Yours,
Li
